Amd rig or Intel rig?

FX8350 is 125watts full load....panag.sa ra ang cpu mag full load.....mas dako ang ka.un sa GPU compared to cpu.
Dili pa ta ma purdoy sa 15 - 35 watt "intermittent" difference....Gamit gani sa Desktop sa.una na CRT (250watts constant) and monitor.

Get Intel if $$$ is not an issue......myself won't get Intel regardless I got the $$$ or not.
I can build better AMD desktop to suit my purpose for the amount of $$$ I spend buying an Intel cpu.....

^ mas better na kun mag upgrade sya bro, mas ideal kun CPU (i5 lang) ang i-replace nya granting, its on the same socket para lesser ang gasto labi na, gaming ang main purpose nya sa rig... or even mag i7 sya kun ganahan mo gasto'g dako. if mag platform change to FX-8350, for now, it is a bad2x move...

main reason:
* cost on the platform change --> mas dako ang ma gasto kay mahal ang FX-8350 CPU sa pinas (not to mention na pangita-on pud kaayo), mahal ang AM3+ mobo that's good for OC'ing. plus this animal needs a good CPU cooler for OC (if wla'y big air, or water CPU cooler na available. if need paliton).

* over-all power consumption sa FX-8350 --> mas dako. ang actual power consumption sa rig, mag depende gyud hinoon ni's gamit. kun sige'g duwa ug mag sige'g full load ang system (like mag video encoding, editing, rendering & others), dako gyud ni'g kaon. kun mag general computing work load lang, tabla2x ra ni'g idle. power consumption wise nila kay negligible ra @ idle mode...

* gaming fps on a FX-8350 vs an SB (i5-2500K) & IB (i5-3570K) @ stock & OC'ed speed --> the FX-8350 is inferior on CPU bound gaming titles like Skyrim. but if GPU bound, we'll wala ra ni'y kurat... kun naa man gani fps difference, negligible ra...

so, ang akoang ma recommend, kun gusto mag AMD FX set-up, wait for the next generation for you to jump into the AMD FX band wagon (utong lang usa gamay. maabot ra lagi ni next yr or kun pas2x-san nila, basin end of this year)... or kun gusto mag change into a AMD FX now, it's your choice pud... just check lang akoang comment sa taas para ma weight ninyo ang gasto...

kun new build gyud, kumbate ra ang FX (nothing is wrong gyud on this choice. AMD's FX CPUs are able and are powerful too) pero, check intel's comparable offering (i5)... for now, intel is the speed king in terms of CPU's brute power & processing speed... but AMD is the fastest OC'ed CPU on GHz numbers... this is a fact... but this GHz is just a number... it's only a heaven for the OC'ing crowd or a raibow na ad2 mag slide2x... ehehehehe... this does not in anyway translate to the usefulness of the CPU on its fastest obtained GHz number... in short, the CPU is useless in this state on "real world use"...

and to add, on these desktop platform... Intel's LGA 1155, 1150 are now dead... 1151 is the current one... on AMD's side, the AM3+ platform is also dead... the new FX will use a new platform...

AM3+ socket will be used for Steamroller and most likely on Excavator.....that means AM3+ socket will most likely be around for at least 3 more years.....

kun mag hisgot ta'g fps, wla ra gyu'y problema... very playable kaayo. pero kun mag compare nata'g "gaming fps performance", aw, atoa gyud nang dawaton na, mas ubos ang fps sa AMD FX compared sa intel counterparts... fact man ni... dili na lalison... ug atoa pu'ng dawaton na mas barato ang AMD FX compared sa i5... fact pud ni na atoang dawaton... pero ma lalis ni kay ang uban lugar na gamay or limited ang stock sa FX CPUs, mahal gihapon sila'g presyo (like sa Pina's) compare sa mga lugar na daghan stocks na need ug flush out (like dha sa US na imohang nahimotangan or diri's China)...

sa akoang nang gi post previously, unsa man ang bottom line nato, lipay ang pocket or taas ang fps sa game (na dili gani maka bantay ang atoang mata or utok)? lain2x ta'g tubag ani gyud...

walay labot aning word na barato ang FX-9570 ug ang FX-9590... mahal ra kaayo ning mga mananapa as these are not targeted for the masses... these are for hard core AMD fanatics...

unsa.on mana nimo ta-as ang FPS sa benchmark kung ang monitor nimo is 60hz refresh rate ang limit?
YOU ARE WASTING MONEY BASED ON BENCHMARK!......Ma.o ra gyud na ang "peak" sa imong monitor! 60hz ref. rate...that's it!

I didn't brought up FX9xxx....someone did to justify how hot AMD cpu's run.....Agree - FX9xxx for hard core OC's.
I'm trying to help people save money....dili sayon mangita ug $$$ labi pa kung na.ay mga anak nag eskwela.
Wala mai problema mag Intel ka basta na.a kai $$$.

AM3+ is dead... or kun gamiton nila ni ang AM3+ na socket, then ang current chip sets now are useless for the next AMD FX CPUs funtionality... mura man ni'g FX-8350 then gamitan ug kara-an na chipset... "Disable" ang labas sa rig kay dili ma unleash ang "true" power sa CPU... samotan ka bya-an sa competition. nag gisa ni sila sa ilahang kaugalingon na mantika kun mag in-ani... tsk tsk tsk...

kun plano gyud gamiton sa AMD ang AM3+ socket nila sa new CPU nila, so, bag-o na chip set, bag-o na mobo kay mag DDR4 naman ni... kun mo cling sila's oldy tech, kaluoy intawon sa AMD noh. dli ni sila bogo baya na mag pabilin lang sila na gi sigehan ug latos sa intel... AMD will fight back and by doing this, they will release new technology... as we're waiting for the release of the new FX CPU series...

in order for a company to succeed, they should move forward and not cling on the past... for tomorrow, today's technology is a past... yesterday was history...



monitor refresh rate on gaming fps is another story... dili nato isagol kay mag libog ang mag basa (dili tanan maka relate dayon ani)... focus lang usa ta's discussion on the CPUs fps gaming performance.

lain ni'g gastohon ang monitor napud baya... higher refresh rate monitors are expensive...

so, kun mo jump sa ani na bandwagon AMD new FX CPU, aw, wla gyud ta'y mahims kundi, mo gasto... "common denominator" sa passion nato kay... GASTO... ehehehehe... then, wla ta'y visbility kun ang current socket sa FX CPUs (i'm referring to the next socket not today's one), mao pa ba gihapon ang gamiton nila for the next CPU micro-architecture... dili assurance nato na dugay ang AM3+ nila, the same move ra gihapon ang himoon. they might do similar move as intel's... check the APUs socket history... 1.5 ~ 2 yrs ang average gap sa change platform... from FM1, FM2 & FM2+... maayo gani, compatible ang FM2 series... but, kun naa'y new APU napud, for sure, dili na compatible sa FM2+ kay new functionality ang compatibility naman pud...

karon man lagi, sige pa ni gawas ang AM3+ socket kay wla pa man ang new socket nila. but its on the end of the road na... on the 990FX chip set...

anyhow, hope ko na mo deliver gyud ni ang AMD sa actual performance based sa marketing nila ug hope ta na barato lang gihapon ni para daghan mo jump ship... for now, hope lang usa gyud ta... kun mahal gani ning FX nila then pareho ra's intel camp na tag 10 ~ 15% ra ang performance jump from the current offerings then, nag pareho lang ni sila, wla'y lami... hehehe...

AM3+ is EOL @Jess_V. And less likely na sundan sa AMD ang current FX with a steamroller or excavator. The upcoming Zen will use a different socket my guess would be FM3. Kaning argument sa games bitaw kapuyan na ko explain ani mao na ginapasagdan nalang nako ning mga nin-ani nga discussion. Anyway I remember nakahatag na ko ug point ani sa previous page so di na nako kelangan balikon. Naa ra sa tawo if open minded siya or naka lock na sa iya huna2 asa mas maayo para sa iya.
