Some students were required to attend the Liberal party's "Gathering of friends" at the Cebu Coliseum. Their attendance was checked. When they wanted to leave, because of the 4pm examination, they were barred from leaving by PSG guards who refused to open the main gate of the coliseum because 'the program was on going' at that time and the President was still there.

Criminology students of a downtown university said they were told that the event would end at 3 pm, but at that time, Aquino and Roxas have yet to give speeches. They appealed to the PSG personnel to let them go out because they have an examination at 4pm but the PSg guard did not listen to them.

Another group of students who were also wearing uniforms have the same sentiments. They were nautical students and from the teachers department of the same school.

A nautical student even asked dyLA, wa lagi panghatag sir?

But why? He said they were told to attend because of some goodies to be distributed like tshirts.

Some civilians including senior citizens also wanted to leave but were barred too.

Salvacion Bueno, 74, from Mambaling said, she and her companion wanted to go home because there was no food or snacks given.

“Kakuyapon nako sir kay gutom kaayo. Hangyua intawon sir nga makagawas mi”, she said.

She said she is actually a Mar Roxas supporter but the leader of their organization in the barangay claimed that snacks will be distributed, but there was none.

A woman who is also member of the PSG, at that time was fuming mad at dyLA and asked not to interview them. She checked the ID and compared it in the list of mediamen who were given accreditation to cover.

When the interview was still conducted on other people nearby, the female PSG member then pushed dyLA away from the group of people who wanted to leave.
