Basically because the US has a lot more freedom and democracy than the Philippines.

The Philippine government claims (most especially the yellow army, aquinos) that the Philippines is a country of democracy but the fact still remains that freedom in our country is just superficial! The essence of freedom is not even felt, by whom? The oppressed individuals, people living below the poverty line!

And to add, the control of the oligarchs and the rich is enough basis to say that we aren't free at all!

finds earning dollars as success not seeing the creativity that can be harnessed by the simple living in a hometown to one's life story.
not valuing the opportunity to witness and hope for the local projects and improvements. not valuing the enduring hope we can give while witnessing the progress of the locality. it is still great to be part of the progress while being a simple working professional or volunteer.

finds migrating an adventure. not seeing an adventure from being a student of life in a simple locality. it is about choices and priorities.
