    1. Why do game reviewers use either a 4770k/4790k/4960x/5960x (sometimes a 4690k) in their setups if it doesnt matter?

Wait game reviewers uses one test platform only?

    2. Why do all setups you see in hwbot gpu benches dont use amd?

I use AMD Anyway if you are familiar with hwbot. I think you are capable of answering that question.

    And lastly

    3. Why did AMD choose to use a 4790k in their Quantum SFF Gaming PC?

They want the best. AMD acknowledges that even if it meant only a few frames more. And to add to that, the lack of itx board for the AM3+ platform.

Again, articles like the ones I linked above they are not meant to prove AMD beats Intel. I believe in general Intel is better. It's just the way the current FX line-up is being perceived by the media/consumers. Most of time it's just bs talk. FX are capable and in the right scenario which I stated above, they still can be competitive.

And would like to hear those flaws you speak of if you don't mind. For the sake of discussion.

Can't compare cores against AMD and Intel....Intel wins when comparing equal number of cores.

    Compettion is in PRICE DIFFERENCE.
I can get more cores, faster freq. and MORE cache for lot less money with AMD....funds saved on AMD cpu goes to more powerfull VC.

I'm the other way around...used to have an i5 (sold it in Craigslist) but decided to try Phenom X6 BE (eBay) after seeing how inexpensive they were. They cost almost the same for 2 more cores and bigger (double) cache.

I was frustrated also on the enormousity of sockets Intel produce unlike AMD. Try buying mobo for your Intel cpu and you'd know what I mean....AMD makes only handful of socket types which makes mobo upgrade effortless.

Intel good if you have $$$ to throw around - I don't ....
It adds up very quick when changing PC's every 3/4 years.

    @sempron_guy

You are citing the wrong context out of my previous statements, not the general side of them. I said i wont go into detail as it will just add flame to this thread.

Instead im going directly to the bottomline - what do statistics tell and what do review authorities and benchmarkers prefer? It all boils down to that. Whatever the reason it dont matter much.

And I'll stick to my last statement. I think I said enough.

Midrange card, Source Engine (loves single thread performance scenario)

Midrange card, Source 2 Engine (more multi-thread optimized scenario)

Midrange card, GPU intensive a.k.a doesn't give a crap what cpu you use scenario

    ______________________________________________

High-end card, GPU Intensive/Multi-thread optimized, "high resolution" scenario

    ______________________________________________

Multi-GPU config, 4k reso, CPU doesn't matter scenario

    ______________________________________________

So what's the point? It has been proven already that demand shifts on the GPU as soon as you start to crank your resolution. And there are certain GPUs that will most likely run out of horsepower first before the CPU does, no matter what cpu that is. Quote me on that and I will give another source that can prove that is the case. And finally, there are GPU intensive games and CPU intensive games. In gpu intensive games, most likely it won't give a fudge what your cpu is as long as you got enough GPU muscle. CPU intensive games, there's the single thread whore (remnants of the past) and multi-thread optimized games (sneak-peak of the future - longest sneak peak cause there are already quad core cpus as early as 2007-2008 and most cpu intensive game nowadays are still stuck at 2 cores w/c is absurdly ridiculous ).

one sentence to describe that gaming review.

    GPU bottleneck

    that is your choice.

but all of that numbers does not translate to better performance when compared with a same price intel core procie equivalent.

because if that number actually translate to better performance, AMD could be the performance king now.

    this reality.
