I'm a Nursing graduate here in Mindanao and I'm planning to apply for work there in Cebu. I graduated last 2009 and the only work experience I had was doing volunteer work in a gov't. hospital. After that, I did further studies in healthcare/medical field. So basically, I don't have that much experience on applying for a job, much less the BPO industry. I really wanted to try out BPOs because it offers greater opportunities. I have a little knowledge on troubleshooting computers. If you would kindly enlighten me with the following questions, I would be very grateful =)))))

    1. What are some entry level positions I can apply based on my background?

    2. What company should I go for as a beginner? In terms of pay/work environment/stress level?

    3. Is there a relocation allowance?

    4. What salary range can I expect?

    5. What requirements will I bring once I apply there? I only have my TOR and 2 valid IDs. No sss nor TIN..

    Salamat gyud kaayo in advance!
    1. What are some entry level positions I can apply based on my background? there are alot of callcenters who offer callcenter works for nurses who dont have any CC experience, sykes, cvg, JP morgan and more to mention. But dont expect to much of an offer at an entry level with no experience my friend. start from scratches and earn your way to the top im sure u can, most likely you will end up in CSR or TELEMARKETING or SURVEY

    2. What company should I go for as a beginner? In terms of pay/work environment/stress level? as i heard being in the BPO industry for 7 yrs and ITO, sykes has a good training background in terms of people skills and hands on skills.. anyways dont try to read to much feedback on how bad this company is and that company cuz it would just drive you with no motivation to work. try the company for your self and asses yourself if you are fit for this company or if this company is helping you out grow as an individual. everyone has something bad to say to their own company so i suggest you test the waters yourself rather than hearing it from someone

    3. Is there a relocation allowance? some companies do out of town hiring process, and if theres one in mindanao they would offer you a relocation allowance for a few months stay and allowance. But if you walked in through a BPO comapny here in cebu, please dont expect any relocation allowance since it defeats the purpose of it

    4. What salary range can I expect? dont expect to much for a first time entry level with no exp.. as i said before start from scatch. some centers can offer you at a mid range pay from 10k to 17k depends

    5. What requirements will I bring once I apply there? I only have my TOR and 2 valid IDs. No sss nor TIN..
resume pag dala.. den after that if madawat ka naa mana NEO (new hire orientation) tagaan raka ug list of requirements to complete, but those info you posted are the basic requirements ila i ask from you definitely

MORE POWER and god bless sa pag apply TS

    Hi Gito,

yes you are right.. dapat ka mag handa in all call center jobs you want to apply, some have the skills but some doesnt have the attitude to surpass the interview.. ill give my two cents on both TWC and UHG

    Lets start with TIMEWARNERCABLE

-so far there are a few call centers that handles TWC 1.Convergys 2. Teleperformance 3. Teletech(im not sure if active pani sila) 4. 24/7 and the rest might go on

-so 24/7 and COnvergys TWC are both competitive in terms of competition to be number 1 for this Line of business since both handles Tier 2 accounts but handles a few dirfferent states

-I had been with Convergys Timewraner cable for the past 7 Years, as and Agent and both as a SME or MOD (workforce that handles tier 2 agents)

-Not to bad mouth My mother company which i stayed for the last 7 yrs, this company WAS amazing. So check the term WAS amazing since it was great way back from 2007 when we first started down to 2012 to 2013.

-Support wise : if you dont have a tech background i would be training would be hard for you since karon mas ni dako na ang support bounderies sa mga agents, unlike before we only TROUBLESHOOT DNS, DHCP and NO CONNECTIVITY issues (easy right? yes it was super easy). NOW agents have more support boundaries want me to name it? SALES, TROUBLESHOOT DNC, DHCP, NO CONNECTIVITY WIRELESS CONFIGURATION, ADDING OF MODEM / ROUTER INTO THE SYSTEM, PROCESS TECHNICIAN GO BACK, PROCESS CREDITS, and alot more. its like being a TIER 1 and TIER 2 representative..

IN SHORT mas grbe imo workload

-Irate customer : 80% u get BS and Cursing customers, so if your a weak heart, i suggest you suck it up since no caller is calling happy if they lost internet, they call bec. they have a problem

-metrics : this is where it gets harder , SALES, Avergae Handle Time(the time you take in and finish the calls), CSAT (customer survey), and more to mention this are metrics that gives agent in the floor alot of stress honestly since this are major metrics (im not sure up until now) that you keep thriving to pass every single day. so stressful

-benefits : no more retirement plan, health insurance is way uglier than before, ive heard nga wala pd daw mo active sa HMO if dili pamo mo abot ug 6months or ma regular

SUMMARY : Convergys for newbies is HARD in terms of workload, stats and stuff and the benefits are not appealing, thats what you get in a BPO industry. why trust me? I've been there 7 years and i`ve seen people come and go with the reason why they leave. FYI i left bec. of the retirement hehehe

    HERE COME UNITED HEALTH GROUP
    - my two cents
    - ive been with this company for around 3months now
    - Stress? 10% lang
    - Irate Callers? some of them dont receive calls, murag process rag claims so tig encode ra, calles coming in is like 5% frustrated customer (not irate though, its a big difference) you will understand why dili irate ang callers if your in the comapny
    - pay wise? they really go for your worth. For newbies i'm not sure but just give it a try and the benefits
    - Metrics? trust me this is far way more better bec. we dont SELL stuff, we dont have CUSTOMER SURVEY. just dont go on being late or absent and it`ll flow
    - Berlitz and Versant is spoken language proficiency tests - is it hard? c`mon you gotta be kidding me. Its a free conversation Dude, they ask you things not about the company, they just talk to you as if you were close friends, they ask you for things you Do or for things you love to do and the questions build up there. Theres no right or wrong answers my friend, they are there to listen if you have the attitude to do a normal conversation with someone. Trust me dont be intimidated, they are really nice person learn how to smile and talk about things that you are mostly sure of what your gonna say. Dont go about saying, wooo I love watching Batman the dark night (but you havent watch the movie yet) bec. the questions build up from their and you might be trapped on what you are doing
    - This is not a BPO so benefits in HMO is covered on your day 1 and its way more better

pero basta try lng apply, wherever you land on your job hunting, i hope this helps a little, its a bit lenghty pero im sharing to you what could be best for you and your future job

Hi there. Pwede ka mo apply BPO companies like EXL, UHG, Accenture, HCCA ky mka relate rmn sad sa imo kurso. If ur an NCLEX passer wala jd ky problema pangita ug work. In demand ang USRN in the BPO industry. Daghan sd sila non voice account so wala sd jd stress. E training pa mn sad ka nila ana.

Ask lng ko did u apply abroad naba? Ang uban nko friends ky ni apply na s gawas then while waiting sa ila application nag BPO sila ky dako jd ang pay compared working in a hospital. Same rta Nurse sd ko with 6yrs hospital experience then nag BPO for 6 months para mka save before larga sa US. Na assign ko sa precertification department non voice siya. Mag review rka ug clinicals sa mga patient so mgamit jd imo pagka nurse. USRN rate varies from 25k-33k monthly limpyo na. Local RN ky mga 18k monthly. Ang difference ra ky naay extra allowance ang USRN nga 8-12k php monthly. I suggest while waiting sa imo application abroad mg BPO ka to save ky gasto jd kaayo e larga rn panahona. Anyway hope this helps u.
