A 50-year-old Filipina scheduled to fly to theMiddle East on Friday was barred from leaving for allegedly mentioning the word“bomb” in a joke.
Director of the Aviation Security Group ChiefSupt. Pablo Francisco Balagtas said passenger Daisy David Medallon was about toboard a Philippine Airlines flight PR 654 bound for Riyadh at the NAIA Terminal2 around 9:10 a.m. when she was apprehended.
Balagtas said during the check-in procedures,David was advised by Janette Murata who was manning the counter, to remove someof her stuff due to excess baggage.
However, when David lifted the box, she said:“MAY SASABOG SA BAGAHE KO PATI EROPLANO N’YO SASABOG.”
She was also heard by Kevin Mansue, who wasmanning Counter 64 and relayed the matter to their duty supervisor.
PO3 Regente Pascasio of the National CapitalRegion-AVSEU immediately responded andarrested the suspect.
Police informed David that she violated PD 1727or malicious dissemination of false information of the willful making ofany threat concerning bombs, explosives or any similar device or means of destruction.
She is now under the custody of theIntelligence and Investigation Section of the NCR-AVSEU headed by Senior Supt.Ricardo Layug.
