the Bible gives a hint nga si Jesus natawo ranging from late September to early October based sa birth ni John the Baptist (6 months earlier than Jesus), kay ang conception date ni John the Baptist kay matrace pud sa kanus-a nagserve ang iya amahan nga si Zacharias sa temple (fourth month of the Jewish Calendar, which is late June to early July, though debatable pa man gihapon sad ni...

imposible pud nga December kay winter na, dili unta magsheperding ang mga shepherds ana sa kabaga sa snow

    Luke 2:8,
"And shepherds were in the same region staying in the fields and watching over their flock [during the] watches of the night."

The question is why is it common knowledge among Christians that Dec. 25(Christmas) is the celebration of the BIRTH OF JESUS? Can you explain to us?

So based ana, who is at fault here? The bible or the common people? Christmas celebration is worldwide so does it mean all people reading the bible are at fault?

the Roman Catholic church ang gassign ana, related pud na sa paganism sa Rome ang pagkapili ana, so nadala na na hangtud karon unya kay giassociate naman na sa holidays sa atong civil calendar, so no choice na lang mao nga mocelebrate na lang ug Christmas inig December 25, though gieducate naman pud ang ubang Christians nga no one knows the true date of Jesus' birth

and you know naman pud how powerful the Catholic Church labi na sa Medieval ages nga kaya nila controlon ang politika sa Europe..it is not the fault of the Bible, it is the fault of the people, mao nga naay ubang Christian groups dili mocelebrate ug Christmas inig December 25, pero naay uban mocelebrate pud na lang kay it does not matter what date of birth but kung kinsa ang giremember ang birth which is si Jesus...

So based ana you acknowledge that anyone can be fooled by history. Ironic, that Roman Catholic has around 1.2 billion followers and the bible is supposed to be their lifeblood but then here you are contradicting yourself.

As you can see, if some powerful group in the past writes history(anything as long as humot sila) then there's no way that anyone at present knows they are following a fake history. By saying nga paganism practice ng Christmas by the Romans then how come you still practice it?

Forget history kay sa tinood wala jud ta kibaw sa tinood unless naay time machine. So to save ourselves from being fooled by history then let's talk about the END GAME.

"Histories are written by the victors"

ngano nagcontradict man ko sa ako self?? first of all, wala man pud ko sa RC nga denomination, mao nga di jud ko agree ana ilang pagtoo nga December 25 ila gipili, pero for me it is no big deal ra man pud kung Dec. 25 kay kabalo man jud ko nga di na ang basis, kay it is not the matter kung what date natawo si Jesus but siya ang giremember,

murag mas big deal man hinoon kaayo sa imoha para lang jud malink na pud ang Christianity sa ubang religions..

Isn't it not hypocrisy that they are quick to debunk that nowhere in the bible is Jesus born on Dec. 25 but then ALL RC are celebrating Christmas - the birth of Jesus?

It is not a big deal for me. Ganahan lang ko naay ma learn sa inyong part. Is it bad that I pursue knowledge? This is new to me

Nariribog ako eh! So dili naka mag celebrate ug Xmas? Sayang ang mga regalo!

kay mao may sulti sa ilang Pope nga kana ang icelebrate unya naa naman pud na sa atong kalendaryo so nisabay na lang sa public holiday, pero i know in myself nga di jud na ang exact date jud, and knowing pud majority sa mga Catholics wala man pud na sila nagdiscern pud kung tinuod ba jud na basta mao lay sulti sa Pope ug sa traditions

This is what I wanted to hear from you. Acknowledging that a powerful man can persuade anyone to follow him in the name of religion. Thanks

i recalled something from a bible study years ago. note that this was not a bible study where people read a verse and share experience or thoughts. it was a discussion of technical facts together with businesspeople, theologist, doctors, and priests.

roman catholic church chose dec 25 because of the weather/climate that time, cold and long nights. i think the leaders also wanted to replace a certain pagan celebration with a christian celebration that fall on the same date - december 25.

also the bible did mention 3 wise men, not kings. even the bible did not mention anything about a book that christians should follow.

also these stories about jesus's story was stolen from pagan stories - where it could also mean mean that these pagan beliefs were made up to disprove jesus' existence. just because we hear the term pagan - we could be assuming that these pagan references are true because we assume all pagan practices existed before Christ was born.

in the it is great to think a lot of what ifs -we never know. if only we could somehow visit the past and see for ourselves.

but the 1st pope was St. peter, an apostle of christ. not just a mere disciple - but an apostle, who was tasked to share the word of God, the message of love, and he did persuade, preached not because in the name of some religion, he was commanded to. he was crucified because of following Christ - and a lot of martyrs were martyrd because they believed in someone not just something.

but there are actual people who very influential, and use this power for personal gain - and they are still alive!
