this is exactly what I did. the engraving is free but they only have one font available (i know, it sucks) but i think there are engraving services being offered by other stores.

OnT: if she's into books..casually ask her about her preferred genre..fave author..then arrange the best time when you can tease her awfully until she gets furious..then just as she reaches her boiling point..you treat her to snack or dinner..then surprise her with her favorite book wrapped in something nice..as an extra bonus, you can give her the Parker pen with her name engraved..& greet her a happy birthday..allowing her to swat you around..
