gi compare ni ang AMD A8 5600k ug i7 3770k out of the box....oranges to oranges ang comparison ni ani. No discrete GPU gamit sa ila comparison.

Who buys an i7 and game with the igpu?"

FYI - APU's are NOT designed for gaming. I don't know where you got info A's igpu are for games?

Anyone using igpu for serious gaming, whether AMD's or not, have no clue what's his doing....

AMD never include iGPU on their production/gaming chips. Thats how they keep their prices in check.

Dili tanan VC for gamings only. lain2X VC have different purposes - dili lang games.....

now, dili ni nato ma compare sila directly to AMDs APU kay the APUs iGPU was designed for gaming per se in mind...

naa may mga intel CPUs na wala'y built-in iGPUs man pud... akoang gamit kay i5-2550K... naa'y i5-3350p pud... pero, wala'y current high end offering na desktop CPU on intel's side na wala'y iGPU.

wait see lang ta kun mo decide ang intel na mo focus sa iGPU...atoang tan-awon kun unsa ang performance w/respect to AMD's offerings...

by the way, for people that will say that the "i7 desktop variant CPUs" are only a gaming CPU, then, you are wrong... i7 series are used for professional & productivity applications as we'll. they are very powerful in this work loads. gamit ni's mga tao na dili maka afford sa i7 extremes CPU for professional & productivity use.

gamit kaayo ni sila for video editing application... then naa'y mga apps na mo support sa intel CPU to speed up video encoding & transcoding... so, mao ni ang tubag sa pangutana sa inquiry sa taas ni bro Jess_V... limited lang kaayo ang pag tan-aw nato aning i7... dili ang intel ang sayop kundi, kita na mga buta... atoang gi head-on lang ang wall na wla'y lingi2x... ehehehe...
Bro, ang mga high end desktops from Intel don't offer iGPU. Current high end offerings nila for x99 - 5960x, 5930k ug 5820k kay walay iGPU. Same with the last generation nga x79 chipset kay walay mga iGPU.

And sakto ka i7 generally kay used for additional tasks like video edit/render, CAD, mga simulations. Pero some programs kay mu paspas when using discrete GPU like mga Adobe products so wala gyud gamit usahay ang iGPU.

Sakto gyud for gaming kay i3 ug i5.

And also the new Intel CPUs kay packed na with capable Iris Pro pero with big leap sa TDP. Check ninyo na sa mga review sites.

The way I see it is AMD APU is also for budget offline gamers or online gamers. Radeon R7 GCN cores gud gibutang nila straight from their Gaming line of GPUs, which is ang RADEON. I think iGPU man sad tawag ana kay gi-integrate nila ang GPU cores sa CPU nila gud resulting into an APU.

And yes naa sila'y other gamit.

Intel's Iris Pro for me sad kay mura ranag HD4000, HD3000, etc nga line pero for 4k display lang. So that's just me.

and as I've said earlier ug sa gingon ni boss @lloyd_joy , para ni naay graphics out of the box. Lain sad kaayu ug naa kay i7 or isug nga i5 sa era of 4k kung dili siya maka-support, di ba?

    well that's just me.

kanang gi mention nimo bro, those are "Extreme GPUs" for targeted for the enthusiast. those are other animals and are intended for the non-average buyer. price pa lang daan sa CPU, bongog na si average juan. inig puno sa mobo, bungol na... ehehehehe... joke3x... mao na ang akoang gi mention na mga CPU for professional and productivity use (kun dili gamiton ug OC'ing toy as well as a dedicated gaming rig) other than the Xeon. nice ning mga i7 "Extreme" CPUs for video editing work loads kay ma OC man, maka puga pa gyud ta'g last drop of performance ani nila compared sa the same micro-architecture na mga Xeons (E5 series)... dili man nato ni ma OC na ang mga Xeon gud ron. unlike the Xeons of the yesteryear. dili ni nato i-compare sa desktop variants from both AMD (all CPUs, APUs) & intel (non-extreme CPUs) kay, asohan lang na nila ang destop CPU offerings due to their performance in games (kay mo support ni sila'g multi-CPUs w/out the PCIe bandwidth (lanes) bottleneck or limitation ug sa professional & productivity apps kay ma OC'ed man as well as on the "price"... this is a fact and for now, AMD's offering can't beat intel's micro-acrchitecture (on CPU performance per se). hope the new micro-architecture will beat intel in every aspect of computing ug sa price... para, lipay galore ta'ng mga users na dili mo gamit ug APUs.

basta, for now, on the desktop CPU side, Intel is enjoying the "Throne" and on the APU side, it's AMD whose enjoying the "Throne" kay wala ma'y APU ang intel... both AMD & Intel have their market share... bati kun isa ra ka company ang labaw sa tanan kay we, the consumers are at their mercy - on the price...

Intel can't touch AMD when it comes to integrated gpu.

The sad truth is intel has a firm hold of the enthusiast/gaming segment that even if they take out the igpu and sell it at the same price, people will still buy them. My point is people dont buy intel for the igpu as intel's specific demographic dont care about it at all.

Remember the lynnfields? It didnt stop people from buying them and intel knows that very well. So current i5/i7 igpu is just a bonus.

^Mao sad gyud. Dawat ra ta kay dawat kay mao ramay naa nga nindot haha.

now, here some questions... kamo lang answer ani? taas pa kaayo ni pero, kani lang...

if you're serious about the most GFX intensive gaming title, will you settle for an iGPU... either from AMD or Intel?

if you are a "poser", will you settle for an iGPU from both sides?

if you are a MMO/ RTS casual gamer on 1080p resolution, will you settle for an iGPU from both sides?

if you are a sport game casual gamer on 1080 resolution, will you settle for an iGPU from both sides?

Now compare the APU to Intel's Xeon.

    23fps - 0 fps

    heheheheee

Now choose between a free apu and a free xeon?
