An average Filipino spends hundreds of hours watching television per year. And the poor have the right to multiple channel options. The government will need to subsidize some cable fees or the NTC to set an agreement with Cable companies. This way, poor families pay less on cable fees while kids learn more, instead of the crappy shows ABS-CBN and GMA are currently offering.
It would be so awkward to think that one learned from TV which should be made at school,
TV is purely for recreation nothing more nothing less, if one would concoct education as what is being shown on the television, then where we would go?. That is pure stupid if a country would just rely on what's being shown in TV's for education.

For me you cannot get information that would be considered useful if you wish to watch this kind of show, it's purely for those who wishes to see it, as a staged or real life dramas, etc whatsoever. Then if you wish to watch education oriented shows then you can chose another show on another channel, as I wanted to emphasize it depends upon the preferences and no one is forced to watch it.

But again, they're left with no other option.
TV's are suppose to be like that, for amusement, not really a good source for home works and ultimately as references.

but the choices are limited. a lot of poor families don't have access to books, encyclopedias and such. why can't we be entertained and learn at the same time?
