^ here in the semiconductor & electronics industry, all companies battle cry is this... "Innovate or Die!"... wwweeeee... ehehehehe...

sa binisaya pa... "pagastohon gyud ta'ng mga consumers"... then, ampay man pud nato... harharharhar...

    > AMD calls it, High Bandwidth Memory (HBM)... Stacked die process... used now by Fiji (R9 Fury series)...
    > Nvidia calls it, Stacked DRAM... Stacked die process... to be implemented first on their Pascal Micro-architecture... slide down pa man kuno ang Volta...

technology moves forward whether we like it or not... we may keep the illness (upgraditis) at bay for now... but until when?... wwwweeeee... ehehehehehe...

OT: What's with Volta and Pascal diay?

    Straight from the news:

Looks like Fury X AMD Card turns the tide with NVIDIA. Running 60fps in 4k resolution(8million pixel) and Sniper Elite 3; 45fps in 5k resolution (14million pixel) as well as armed with 16gb VRAM.

    Best news? Water-cooled $650 > $1000 Titan X.

Fury & Fury X: 1.5X performance per Watt means it's efficient almost like Maxwell (+/- 5%)
Fury Nano: 2.0X performance per Watt means it's 20% more efficient than Maxwell.

AMD is back in the game!

those are next gen GPU micro-architectures from Nvidia bro... pero, lisod ang Pascal kay gasto... para ma maximize ang data throughput nya, need ug HW re-design on the GPU slot. ah, dili lang ta ani mag huna2x usa nila kay wla pa man ni's market. enjoy lang usa nato ang current available technology...

for me, if it's worth the upgrade based on my current HW (current FPS games and monitor resolution) then, i'll jump-in and join the bandwagon... but if the performance difference doesn't justify the cost (based on my standard), i'll just keep the current HW and enjoy playing the FPS games that I'll love to play on-line...

kanang duha ka GPU players, dili mana ilaha ang mem technology. gikan na sa mga mem manufacturers maong gamit na sila ug the same technology as what the mem companies can offer. unhanay lang na sila. naa man governing body (JEDEC) for the mem technology man pud... bottom line, mao ra gyud ni ang atoang actual choices ai from both AMD and Nvidia's GPU offerings...

    "Performance to Price" ratio
    "Performance to Power consumption" ratio
... and most of all, the LOOKS... for the bling factor...
