Good day mga master, ask lang ko about planted tanks kay nag buy ko recently and begginer paman gud kayko, sigi kog tanaw sa youtube ug google ug guides pero lahi ra jud kay america man gud nya most of the products na ila gina say kay dili available here or pangitaonon haha anyway ask ko,

    2. Gusto ta ko nga akong whole tank i puno nkog plants nya di ko kabalo unsay i substrate. What options do i have mga master? Haha

    3. Kailangan paba i clean ang substrate kun naay plants? Or ok ra na gravel vac? (Im still planning to buy paman a gravel vac) what other options do i have besides using a gravel vac?

Mu ra to mga master haha.

    1. Ok raba nga ang akong plants kay naa sa mga plastic cups/lubot sa 1liter coke bottles nya i diritso rag butang sa aquarium, tabunan lang ug gravel?- Pwede ra, but if ang imu grow media (soil na gi gamit) kay ordinary garden soil it may cause algae blooms because of the organic materials present sa soil. For cheap options you may use clay and river sand. That way dli taas ang organic solids present and ang river sand para dli hard maayo ang water. Available ni cya sa Riverfront Aquaria.

    2. Gusto ta ko nga akong whole tank i puno nkog plants nya di ko kabalo unsay i substrate. - ADA all day! mao jud maayo na option! Naa sad ISTA na substrate... Available ra ni dri sa Cebu tanan... You can try Pipers Petshop daghan cla ma pilian did2 na mga "designer" substrate. Just prepare $$$

    - I've never gravel vac mine ever... Well reason is puno man ug plants ako tank, so dli japon mga vacum properly... What i have to keep my water clean is a good filter. I suggest Eheim 2213 for 30-60gal tanks...

BTW dli ko master, i'm just sharing my experiences with this hobby...

    - The best and easiest media to use are kaning mga "designer" substrateso kay ready to use na cya, not much prep work and very easy to hardscape...

Pro there are others na would do as good... like combination of bottom layer clay top layer river sand pro it will be hard to hardscape if kini ako gamit... Kay sands are very lose, so best cya if flay ra ang layer na imu gina himo...

Next is dirt or pure soil... I've seen people use this only problem is you have to make sure you sort out the organic materials... Remove dead leaves, roots and etc... Pure soil ra jud cya... Also make sure the soil has never been treated with fertilizers because it maybe harmful sa imu fish... Taas kaayo na work..

Last is using Gravel or Sand - while this is also a good altermative draw backs niya... PH level sa imu water maybe high... Limited imu plants na magamit, only the once that doesn't rely on their roots for nutrients so no crypts...

I've seen boards were people argued on which one is best? Everyone had a good opinion so it's really about preference... Because having a balanced tank involves a lot of things not just the choice of substrates... Balance cya na formula of Substrates, Water Quality and Lighting...

It is great na you are researching before starting with the tank, not the other way around. But let your experience teach you, go ahead with what you feel is better and learn to use it the best way possible. You will stumble a long the way but you will learn..

    Enjoy.

ah haha sigi2 thank you kaayo master for the advice kay newb pa kay ko aning planted aquarium things haha. nag visit kog pipers ganina tas i saw na they had this substrate pero it's not ADA lang, forgot the name of the product pero it mura siyag like little rocks nga color black tas pag read nako sa back sa package kay naka butang man na "good for planted tanks" gusto unta nako i buy pero not sure ko kung pwede ba gyud siya kay mrag wa man naka balo ang tindera pag ask nako nila. nindot kaha ni mga master or should i just stick with ADA or ISTA na substrates?

also, kung ADA tuod akong i buy na substrate, kailangan ba na i cap nako siya with gravel or pwede lang na mu rato ang akong substrate gyud? haha

last na jud ni, haha kanang if na set up nani, i water change lang man nako ni no tas dapat nindot ako filter, ok ra na di na i gravel vac kay basin ma uproot ang mga plants? haha salamat kaayo mga ACErs!

    - When you are at Pipers, speak to the owners... Maayo na cla, they really know their stuff...
    - You can use ADA's as is... No gravel needed... Pro some use gravel for their hardscape designs...
    - I think you may want to do a little more research before starting... Naa man gud general practice when setting up a planted tank... From the substrates, to lights to water quality.... Like knowing how to water cycle... See this link So, You Want to Set Up a Fish Tank? - The First Tank Guide - Some Things to Think About and Have in Mind BEFORE You Buy Your Tank for a start... ^ tuo jd ni master pongsansoy kay he really gives great advice..

Nindot jd if mag window shop ka daan sir sa prices pra maisa ra nimu palit ang stuff from one shop to another..
