i`ve bumped into a news about Mary Jane Veloso who would be executed in Indonesia for becoming a drug mule, as for her statement she needed a job so a friend offered one, they stayed in malaysia and was treated well, since she has alot of things bought already by her friend, a guy (known to be the brother of her friends boyfriend) bought him a bag. Not thinking of anything negative since the girl helping her is a good friend, she carried on packing her things and she was given a ticket to fly to indonesia. Upon their (alone) her bag got scanned 2-3x and was later on identified that she has drugs along with her. Now her life a complete 360 being in death penalty for being innocent.
Innocent or not, this should server as an eye opener for US who loves to travel alot, to always be mindful about the people who offer us help and make sure to frisk or double check your bags before you travel, make a close contact with your bag cuz faith can lead you to a bad direction if we are not vigilant enough.
Second for us travelers, if we go to a place that is outside the phil. constituion. reaserch on the place, its laws as well so you dont break any law and may be sentenced to jail for such a crime you thought it was not. just like a news i read that 3 young girls were sentenced to jail in russia for making a dance video at a world war 2 monument. who would have thought that it is against a law..
just my 2 cents, better know the city / country you go to before you travel at least you would be extra careful while having fun out there..
