Default Oldest Skeleton of Human Ancestor Found

[I cant seem to find any thread with this kind here but feel free to close/merge if I did missed it out.]

New instrument dates old skeleton before 'Lucy'; 'Little Foot' 3.67 million years old

A skeleton named Little Foot is among the oldest hominid skeletons ever dated at 3.67 million years old, according to an advanced dating method.

Little Foot is a rare, nearly complete skeleton of Australopithecus first discovered 21 years ago in a cave at Sterkfontein, in central South Africa. The new date places Little Foot as an older relative of Lucy, a famous Australopithecus skeleton dated at 3.2 million years old that was found in Ethiopia. It is thought that Australopithecus is an evolutionary ancestor to humans that lived between 2 million and 4 million years ago.

Stone tools found at a different level of the Sterkfontein cave also were dated at 2.18 million years old, making them among the oldest known stone tools in South Africa.

A team of scientists from Purdue University; the University of the Witwatersrand, in South Africa; the University of New Brunswick, in Canada; and the University of Toulouse, in France, performed the research, which will be featured in the journal Nature

This is a significant find as to support the evolution theory where the linking of ancestral history between us and our ancestors.

As we all know scientists and the likes are such a stubborn arseholes... They need solid proof.. And the funding also.. And fame.. Fortune.. So on..

That's quite an old article. ALmost 6 years now

maybe their drive is fame to have their names remembered as the one who found the "missing link" .....
Because there are still a lot to learn, and humans are curious

Opps i provided a wrong link. Updated now.

And also, does theory of evolution has been proven scientifically? No, not yet. The evolution theory, as it says on the label, is still a 'theory'. Yes, there have been numerous pieces that are generally considered 'evidence', but there is no scientific conclusion. Thats why humans are still on search of more evidence, solid ones linking us to our supposed "ancestors".

maybe because it's the passion of an Archaeologists..? and maybe why Astronomers are also looking for evidence of life outside our solar system or study stars and cosmos.. or maybe scientists who are driven to find cure for known diseases to help because it's their passion..

This is not just about proving the theory of evolution.. Maybe the writer of that article just written those "THEORY OF EVOLUTION".. how about clicking the link provided above? can you see any Theory of Evolution stuff written?

    @stealthghost, boss.. from these excerpts.

" It is thought that Australopithecus is an evolutionary ancestor to humans that lived between 2 million and 4 million years ago..."

".. base our evolutionary scenarios on the few fossils we have from those sites."

I guess what they are basing is on the evolutionary theory or studies.

Evolution is our best bet on determining our ancestors but there are still missing links or big gap to make significant claim to link us to them.

Thanks @yhokz101. I'm pointing on some replies here. Kay it seems wa sila kasabut sa work sa mga scientists. It's not just about fame and everything requires funding. Lisud pud mangita sa other specimen like this tungod kay there are only few of them before. Unlike today nga daghan kaayu tao sa kalibutan.

scientists need to continue doing their jobs, because we can never really "prove" anything in science. we just know a little bit more than before. i think we don't really know everything how these hominids go about their day to day lives, and what exact circumstances led to their evolution. a scientist's job is never done.
