MANILA - A recently discovered onshore oil field in Cebu may hold additional reserves based on an independent assessment commissioned by Gas2Grid Ltd.
In a statement, the Australian firm said newly identified prospects near the Malolos field could have recoverable oil in the range of 14 million to 601 million barrels, with a best estimate of 104 million barrels.
"The new prospective leads have been identified using a combination of available seismic data, satellite imagery and mapping of surface geology," Gas2Grid said. the country's only oil producer of commercial scale, the Galoc field in offshore Palawan, has estimated reserves of up to 25 million.
