Default Question about dual channel and quad channel memory

    Specs:
    i7 3820
    Asus p9x79 deluxe

    2x2 corsair vengeance
    4x2 corsair vengeance

    Question:
1.Where do I install the new 4x2 kit?
Currently I have 2x2 installed on the left side. Should I install the new ram 4x2 on the other side too to get quad channel?
    2. How do I enable quad channel? or am I even able to activate it with my rams?
    3. Is quad better than dual? I assume quad is better by the number itself. lol.

Please help and explain it in simple terms. Thank you in advance and Happy New Year!

    1. Since you have your 2x2 rams installed on the left, the 2x4gb rams should be on the right, so that you'll have the benefits of having the quad channel memory
    2. If you install the memory in pairs like four modules or two modules respectively then the system will automatically enable the feature. Don't need to manually activate it haha.
    3. Number itself explains you a lot

In your case sa imong motherboard,

    2x2, light blue slots

    4x2, black slots

or puede ra man tingali same side basta paris2x lang.

    2. How do I enable quad channel? or am I even able to activate it with my rams? - It should automatically go into quad channel mode if your mobo + proc supports it. Just follow the manual where to put your DIMM sticks.
    3. Is quad better than dual? I assume quad is better by the number itself. lol. - Quad is better, but you will not notice any difference if regular use lang or gaming. Triple/Quad channel is good for very heavy multimedia processing, servers, CAD, etc.

2011 man diay na imong motherboard, lami na palitan og Xeon E5-1650 V2

Good day mga master. Ask lang nta ko. Ang ma support sa xmp kay dual kits ra jud or naay single module lang? Sige kog research wa koy nakita na sakto answer. basin kamo kabalo. Btw akong ram is hyper x fury 1600 4gb two piece dili kit pag palit. Tagsa tagsa pag palit.

    Tia

^ i think it doesn't matter if it's just a single stick RAM. XMP works on the individual RAM module, as long as your RAM has an XMP feature. Simply go into BIOS , enable XMP, the BIOS should set the stick up for you.

Looks like akong ram wala man ana. akong gi pangita sa bios wala jud. gi try nako lain na ram nga XMP enable makita ang option(ram sakong brother). but sa ako wala jud makita ang katong option. naay specific nga hyperx nga XMP enable? kita ko sa site nila. wala naka butang akong ram sa list.
