It seems to us that you are taking the presumption that morality is purely based upon the words encrypted in the bible, when in fact, moral standards precedes it.. killing and other sinful acts are regarded throughout history as highly wrongful.. in fact laws (which are evidence for moral culture) existed approximately 3000 years before the bible was made, and that's only about as far as what we've uncovered..
but following your analogy, it's as if to say that there were no moral guidelines pre-biblical era, and that what's keeping people from raping and killing anybody is this fear of eternal punishment as foretold in the bible, which to me is undermining the altruistic nature of humans., pretty much a negative perspective..
the kind of morality taught in the bible are very basic.. except maybe the first four of the 10 commandments, which is fitting for a god who likes to brag that his love is unconditional, all other else are very basic and general, but if we are going to read through the bible, generally there is more atrocity than morality.. how can we make the bible as basis for morality when stories inside it consists of destructing the enemy, killing innocent people, genocide, rape, etc?..
dont take this negatively, but makaingon sad ko usahay, nga maybe ang reason nganong hinay ang saka sa atong economy is because our views towards ambition is negative, makontento ta sa gamay, katong giingon ni TS nga ang taas ipaubos, ang ubos ipataas, i dunno about you but that's euphemism for crab mentality... and to think mao nay cge ug lawg sa mga pari ngadto sa utok sa mga taw matag adlaw.. those are the kind of values nga gitudlo sa bible, kanang gisulti nila nga "kung unsay gihatag sa Ginoo" like we dont deserve to have more because it's our fate to be poor, what a silly predicament if you ask me..
Ingon ko nga "part" ang religion sa kagubot...not necessarily means mao na ang hinungdan.. pero dili na ni taason ky impossible man ni imo question tubagon nga "..if Wagtangun ang religion DILI diay gihapon Malinawun?"
well.. see my post..
Naa..known na cya..
No I'm not... I'm just saying dili tanan rules base sa" interpretation" sa mga dagko sa simbahan para gyud sa kadaghanan.. Murag ikaw mn an anti "other beliefs" or other religion..
Tanan mabasa nato sa Bible maayo.. I'm with you..kinahanglan gyud ta ug basehan, pero asa man nato ibutang ang mga tawo nga feel nila naay sayop sa pag-interpret sa uban leaders? kay kung moreklamo ta mao ni isulti: "Masuko ang Ginoo", "Gabaan ka" etc..
Correct... So kinahanglan pa ba ka ug interpretation ani sa uban tawo/leader para para mahimo ka nga true Christian? I don't think so..Sample: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Mao nay sample. Asa man na makita? sa bible. Daghan pa nasulat sa New Testament unsaon pagkinabuhi isip Christian bai mao nga mas maayo imo nang basahon aron ka masayod.
But lets end here.. dili man pud gud na atoang topic ang gihimo nimo nga sample..Sakto gyud ka permi ky general mn gud imo approach.. I thought you will do sample like "sacred things" or atleast correcting my argument why there are rules towards indigent members of the church and why there are exception to it.. or asa namn ni dapita sa bible ang gibasehan..
If an idiot would think that everything written in the bible is a command of God for him to do then perhaps that would make sense, but we both know that not all that's written in the bible are commands of God. It also contains history, poems/songs and prophecy. When you talk about destructing the enemy and genocide, that is God's judgement on their sin. God didn't just kill those people because he wanted to. It took years before he passed judgement. In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.” Pero mao lagi hurot sad sila tanan. Is it right. Well it's rightful for an owner to do anything with what he owns.
Ok man nang ambition as long as you know your priority. As a matter of fact di ko ganahan ug attitude nga "ingon ani ra man gud ko, mao ra man ni gihatag sa Ginoo nako". Di man gud na sya tinood. I believe that God blesses his people so that in turn his people will be a blessing to the world.dont take this negatively, but makaingon sad ko usahay, nga maybe ang reason nganong hinay ang saka sa atong economy is because our views towards ambition is negative, makontento ta sa gamay, katong giingon ni TS nga ang taas ipaubos, ang ubos ipataas, i dunno about you but that's euphemism for crab mentality... and to think mao nay cge ug lawg sa mga pari ngadto sa utok sa mga taw matag adlaw.. those are the kind of values nga gitudlo sa bible, kanang gisulti nila nga "kung unsay gihatag sa Ginoo" like we dont deserve to have more because it's our fate to be poor, what a silly predicament if you ask me..
