you have a point citing bansangmoro being made an autonomous region, if malacanyang can grant them autonomy, then how about an autonomous central visayas region.

The big issue with the Basic Law is that it creates an entity that isn't covered by or against our constitution as a unitary republic. Assuming that the Basic Law moves forward, it only creates a situation where more areas will start wanting an equivalent status in their regions/provinces/areas (The only reason regionalism hasn't been as pronounced in national politics is because our Senate is not representative of the different regions of the country and because our executive department is mostly Manila people), something that can be facilitated under a federal system.
