    Default Windows 8 Auto-update problem

    Hi to all,

I browsed but never found any similar topic so I decided to create a new thread for this one with the hopes of getting very helpful insights on how to fix my computer.

My OS is Windows 8 and the problem is, it automatically updates with a message that says something like "Windows is configuring". After reaching around 98%, it always fails and gives the message "Failure in configuriing. Reverting changes" and then it goes on a loop.

I already used Google for some help but to no avail. I have also disabled the autoupdate feature of Windows but still the problem persists.

The temporary solution that I have right now is to start my computer at certain restore points.

    Thanks in advance.

Try this: (to know which update has failed)

    Press Windows+R
In the Open box, type windowsupdate.log, and then click OK.

(Delay Opening due to long logs).
Scroll down to the date that configuring update has failed and check which part has a problem.

You can see just like this logs below.

This logs shows which of the update has failed.

Try to find "FATAL" or "WARNING" in the log file.
