A road experiment has been going on for a few months now in Banilad-Talamban. Making the traffic worse than ever, why does it take so long for the government to realize that what they are doing is not working ? wala bay taga city council nga taga banilad ?

A liveable Cebu movement can and will only be realized if we have a government that will stick to a long term plan. Dili nang kada bag-ong administration, usab nasad, wala nay follow through sa mga nindot nga projects or policies.
How I wish ang transpo sa Cebu mapariha sa HK. You can take a fast train to almost anywhere, from airport to central HK. Imagine how fast nalang ang imo travel. Take for example gikan kag colon nya adto kag Talamban, mag train nalang ka.....

Pwde fully implement ang bike sharing.
BUT....Mandatory special drivers license for bikers, pay yearly registration the same price as a car as well as insurance.
Also, let's not forget the special seminar for the 'risky' bikes especially since safety in the roads are less favorable for the biker.

However going back to reality, there is no stopping bikers from going into the roads but I just don't get having the entire lane for bikes. That's just pretty stupid and brainless. Let's get back to the purpose why there are roads... ah yes, it's for the cars! But never have I heard a car user complain of bikes going on the road and asking them to be banned.

If bikers want a lane for themselves, ok ragyud.
Pay the right fees, share the same risks and road.
Passion for biking is not the issue, it's the brainless heads of so called sponsors and public leaders from making decisions that can turn peace into selfish calamity.

May the sponsors, CITOM head and mayor be stuck in traffic for the rest of their lives.

This boils down to politics and who pulls the strings of the puppet in city hall. -=off topic...out=-

Bai, there's always a sidewalk, ngano mangilog man ko ug dalan?. Kung magka gubot ang dalan sa traffic, I can always pick up my bike (it only weighs a few pounds), shift to the side and walk. Read any of my comments if I ever mentioned myself getting a piece of that concrete slab you call "road". And since when did I say biking is the ultimate solution? I just quoted, " I ride bikes, that's all, nothing more and nothing less".

Don't worry, my Grand dad is 86 years old and he still bikes around the Renton everyday.

Yeah right.. " stick to the topic"

The thread is about MLC, yet you lambast bikers on that first quote. Nice going.

The principles of the movement for a livable cebu are good, but they seem to be currently lacking the same kind of strength and context-based skill that made them effective in the first place.

As an optimist by nature, I can see that they have promoted some good. However, they currently haven't made too large of an impression on the public as of now for the improvement of our road situations.

I agree that we need the proper discipline. However, to blame the corporations alone for the current traffic mess is to oversimplify the issue, seeing as the major traffic issues at large are more the result of politicians' petty squabbles and overinflated egos, a lack of discipline, and a lack of sense in improving public infrastructure for modes of non-vehicular travel.

If we wish to solve or support solutions to these problems, we'll need to start looking at these issues while also calling for actual good change, not politico's slogans and BS propaganda.

I think what they need to do is to do their homework. It seems that most of their so-called ideas are nothing but spur of the moment, random musings and pushing their weight around with the local government just because traffic is the "hot button" topic du jour. There are practically hundreds of best practices around the world for Better infrastructure and urban planning nga wala pa gipang apply to our local situation. If we can assimilate all those ideas into our situation in a practical manner, then the MLC could have a better impact on our fair province; not just city, but province gyud as a whole. why limit ourselves to one city, diba?
