Although I agree, brandishing luxury items from donations publicly is appalling but Stage 4 cancer is incurable, it can never be treated by money. Some last wishes have nothing to do with experiencing new things or getting cured by a miracle drug, but instead are all about achieving peace of mind. Maybe that phone is his way of getting a peace of mind.

You're actually right. But the phone never came out yet. So my question is... what's wrong with putting up with that status? It's only a status commenting how excited he is, nothing else. Can't we just let this dying man post whatever he likes? There are millions of Apple fans out there who are excited with the release, and he's just one of them. Also, I've read somewhere that Globe is one of Jamich's biggest sponsor, and he'll be receiving a free phone anyway (I'm not sure if that's true). I'm just wondering why the bashing came out very early.
