    Very interesting technology...
    ^^^ My dream career/company!

    Anyway @ TS:
Mas dako japun imo gasto since kailangan man ug PC.
The most practical approach dapat naka stand-alone, kanang no need na ba ug PC.
    Daghan ng nihatag ug suggestion:
    1. Ethernet module + [PIC Microcontroller or Arduino]
    2. Raspberry Pi

Ang kulang nako ani pag port forwarding nalang, problema kaayo ky smartbro man ko.
Pero sa nakita nako sa video (by the way wa nako nalantaw ang whole video) wa man sya nigamit ug internet, via wifi/LAN ra man ni.
Naa ko nagama ma control via wifi, on/off lang sa suga. Ang gasto more or less 2K, dala na sa 1K na router.

Ania sad lain, controlling a simple robotic arm via wifi japun:

Naa sad ko gitabangan gama ug thesis, ma view nako via wifi ang current or past na reading sa temperature, water level, wind speed and direction, including ang time and date sa pag log. Kaso lang wa nagam-an ug video kay busy kaayo sa pag teach at that time.
If only pwedi sa smartbro mag port forwarding, ma access na unta nako ni tanan na project sa internet.

By the way TS if ganahan jud ka sa VB, nakagama ko sauna Vb.net gamit ug UDP sockets.

@redhorse hinoon pud bro, sakto ka , mas daku ug gasto kung wala kay pc kadtong medyo karaan na, pero sa akong part naa manko mga biniyaan nga pc for server ,ako lang pud gi gamit due sa akong curiosity ba for programming spicifically output going from parallel port which is 8 controls pud ang makaya visual basic ako gamit, sa rasperbery pi pud medyo mag gasto ko, then sa arduino micro pic contoller same pud additional cost nako since naa man ko existing old pc nga naay parallel port mao kadto lang ako gamit then limited rapud ako knowledge bro... it's just out of my curiosity lang bah try out , pero gusto ko nga maka kuha kog webserver nga free as if ako jud na try pero fail ang html code ako gigamit kay instead e run nya ang ako exe nga file sa ako server iya naman hinoon ipa download hehehehe, thanks kaau bro redhorse sa advice...

If walay PC, we can Use Raspberry Pi nga Mini PC. ambot pila sa Pinas ni:

btw, below is the sample configuration of one of our Lighting Products... maybe it can give you ideas..

One good feature of smart home is to have what we call Smart Controls, Like we can create a Group of Devices that will turn ON or Off on a pre determine time. example, all my Outside bulbs will automatically turn OFF around 6am every day and turn On every 6PM every day.

The application is really boundless labi na ma harness nimu ang power or kabalo ka mu setup sa mga Low power wireless communications protocols kay di lan On Off mabuhat, mas daghan pa..
