Hi TS,
I am not an importer, but I work in an International Freight Forwarding company here in Cebu.
Surely there are risks and benefits in importing goods.
Risks are the following:
1. If you don't have a sure buyer here, and if dili mahalin imong gi import, TY ka. Sayang imong gi import.
2. If the cost of the items you are importing/selling is more expensive than the ones found here. Most likely, di na mahalin
3. Expensive freight costs, releasing costs
4. Permits as importer (your consignee should be a registered importer)
5. Payment of duties and taxes-basin mahal pag imong duty og tax kaysa imong item
6. Freight cost (via air or sea)
Benefits
1. If naa nakay buyer, nya freight collect (meaning siya ang mo bayad sa freight + local charges) then okay na kaayo ka
2. Di kaayo makit-an imong items sa mga local stores diri
3. Cheap imong items kaysa local dealers inig abot sa Cebu
4. High and demand sa imong items nga naa juy mo palit
Documents Needed in Importation
1. Bill of Lading/Airwaybill
2. Packing List and Invoice
3. CPRS/Import Accreditation/Import Docs
4. NTC Permit
