Well, asking why "basketball fans" hate LeBron is out of proportion. NOT ALL BASKETBALL FANS HATE HIM. Likely, they hate him as a player of an opposing team, not his personal life.

Just like the MBA, Cebu Gems fans hated Ferriols and the Negros Slashers. We just hate the guy cuz he was so good and all we can do was to throw coins at them to halt the game.

Nope. Sports fan sociology in terms of being a fan of a particular team roots back in primitive era where people live in tribes, and selecting alpha-males as warriors to fight and protect the tribe was part of their civic duty. In today's era, teams and its own players plays a similar role in a tribal war when playing against opposing teams.

You should watch a soccer leauge, EPL, MLS or w/e and follow a team you love and stick with them for the rest of your life and come back to me if you really applaud a player when he made a goal against your team.

Personally, I hate (dislike) Lebron just because he is too damned good.

1. The Decision wouldn't have bothered me if he were just any regular All-Star. It would only probably seem funny to me. But because he is who he is, a lot of people (including me) saw him as a diva who hasn't proven anything yet.

2. His flopping wouldn't be that big of an issue if he were small and lanky and if he were "just" an above average player. If you factor in his physique and his status as the best basketball player right now, his flopping seems much more pathetic.


I once thought that Lebron should just forget all his drama and be the player that everyone knows he is. And he's started to do that the last 3 years. If he stops flopping completely, he'd probably be on my top 5 favorite players ever.
