I was at SSS Cebu (Main Branch) to update me and my wife's dependent and at the same time file for Maternity Reimbursement. This is the conversation that took place at Counter 2 Table 4.

SSS: Dong nganong usa man lang ni imong number na daghan man ni imong transaction?
Me: Pang last naman gud na akong number maam, nya ingon ang taga hatag sa priority number na pahangyoon nalang daw ko kay wala naman guy number.
SSS: Ha? Unsay hangyo? Unsay pagtuo nimo merkado ni na muhangyo ka?
(Me, silent but in my mind I'm saying WTF!)

Moral of the story: Always have a voice recorder ready.

Paying SSS premium is a must ug problema nimo ang kwarta. Don't trade your being an impatient person for a pension that will benefit you in the future. You may not feel the effects now 'til its too late.

We can't tolerate the bad service just because SSS will be of help to us in the future. Its like we are not the ones paying them. Its understandable that people are impatient -- look how they treated their 'employer'. We, the taxpayers, are their employer.

You also forgot that these "government employees" are also taxpayers. Most likely, when these regular SSS employees want to do claims or loans then they will receive the same treatment.

I don't know but for me it's not the people who is the problem but the system. The system corrupted these people.

Some or maybe most people working under our government have these feeling of being "above others". These feeling if not controlled will consume you until you become someone you hate - politicians.

Same treatment? You got to be kidding. Being in-house is a great privilege, you will have fast and smooth transaction and you can do 'business' as well. The reason why red tape and corruption are prevalent amongst government offices.

But I agree the latter. These people are not root of the problem. That is why we need to correct them by making complaints to let them know that the current system that is not tolerable.
