Default USC School of Law and Governance Admission Requirements

USC's website says that "Applicant-student must have 18 units of English, 6 units of Mathematics and 18 units of Social Science subjects;". Assuming that we already have complied the other requirements (pass the entrance exam, etc) and we lack some units in English and Social Science (let's say 9 units in English and 9 units in Social Science), what does the school offers as a solution to this situation? Thanks

Hi Markie. I think you can request the Law department to credit your non-English- and non-Social Science subjects, for as long as these are closely related to English and Social Science. For example, you may ask that the Philosophy subjects you took up in College, if you have, be credited as English and Social Science. Depende ra how you explain to the Department. Your second option is take additional English and Social Science subjects during the summer, after first or second year of law. I know of several people who took up College English, even if they were already in law school.

It is best that you discuss this with the department secretary.

How many units per semester they require you to have esp for incoming 1st year? I've passed the entrance exam but I'm on a doubtful feeling 'coz I got a fulltime job also. I'm hoping I could school and work at the same time. Any comment?

    Thanks in advance.

Around 18 to 20 units, from 5:30 to 8:30 everyday. Saturdays, from 1:30 to 5:30. I think it is better to give it a try. I know of some people who worked full time and still managed to pass and graduate. Everything depends on how you manage your time and schedule.
