sadly no. Here is an alternative though. This was taught to me by a relative who is a police officer. Buy a cheap but working gun. Don't get a license but make sure it just stays at home. Make friends with your local police station. If ever naa kawatan and imu napusilan sa sulod sa inyo balay, you can claim that it is the akyat bahay's gun and imu na ilog ug mao imu gi pusil niya. If well-known na kawatan imu napatay, then police would even thank you for it. Why cheap gun? ky kuha-on na sa police as evidence. Why make friends with your local station? Para mo tabang sila nimu instead of ikaw mahimo suspect.

Just make sure that you are really proficient with your gun, otherwise you might end up hurting or worse killing a member of your own family.

If problema jud kawatan sa inyo ang dili ka ganahan ug guns, you can opt for an active alarm system. It will cost you anywhere from 1k and up depending on how complex your system is. If window or door lang imu need to secure, naay tag 1k or less na alarm sa handyman or ACE or DIY store.

this is true as long as ang kawatan ky wala backer na police, hehehe. In some cases, naa man gud backer ang mga akyat bahay.

I forgot, another option is to buy a pistol with suppressor. walay tingog, no police reports, no case. mawala lang ang kawatan. hehehe, that is just me though...

Unfortunately, we have no castle doctrine and stand your ground laws here...

You have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that your life is in mortal danger before you can shoot an intruder, and you will still be charged with homicide...

But you can be creative though...

Actually, you can shoot or even kill an intruder but you have the burden to prove below three elements

To escape liability, one who admits killing another in the name of self-defense bears the burden of proving: (1) unlawful aggression on the part of the victim; (2) reasonable necessity of the means employed to prevent or repel it; and (3) lack of sufficient provocation on the part of the person claiming self-defense.[19]

The most important element in self-defense is unlawful aggression – there can be no self-defense unless the victim first committed unlawful aggression against the person who resorted to self-defense.[20] Unlawful aggression presupposes an actual, sudden and unexpected attack or imminent danger thereof, not just a threatening or intimidating attitude.[21]

    G.R. No. 183092
Yes we could claim that we shot an intruder in self-defense, granting that the homeowner overcame the legal hurdles, there is still the matter of resbak from the family and friends of the home invader.

Take for example the case of this resident...

This happened not so long ago. Ato na lang itago sa ngalan na Doctor X ang home owner. He lives in Doña **** village. One night gi sulod sila ug 3-4 akyat bahay robbers. The robbers were armed and managed to subdue every member of his household. They were immobilized and tied down. They were herded into the sala, after which gi sulod sila sa stock room. Unkown to the robbers, that was where Doctor X kept his M1928 Tommy Gun. After managing to free himself from his restraints, in a fit of rage took his tommy gun from its resting place, made it ready and went out of the stock room... He could hear that the robbers are busy ransacking the masters bedroom so there he went. Upon entering the bedroom he saw two of the robbers, hosed them down with .45cal bullets, he could recall that he saw a third one went in the bathroom so he also sprayed the bathroom are with automatic fire till his 50 round drum went dry wounding the robber who hid in the bath tub. The two died on the spot, the others managed to escape leaving behind a bloody trail.

Aftermath which is the usual family of the slain robbers complained why their husbands/sons have to be killed blah blah.. Doctor X with his excellent lawyer and muchos dineros managed to invoke self defense etc in justifying the use of his Tommy Gun thereby overcame all charges against him.

That was only the beginning, as Doctor X is now receiving death threats as those robbers and their cohorts vowed revenge, this went on for around two years or so... Which prompted him to change his place of dwelling and be more paranoid than he usually is... Kinda like living on the edge, constantly looking over their shoulders and an abrupt lifestyle change too... Change of routine, habits, phones etc...

I'm not saying not to shoot down intruders, as I am very much pro-self defense of my life, limb, family and property. I just want people to contemplate first on one of the possible outcomes if they happen to choose that course of action...

Hope my insights here are helpful to your decision making process...

Thanks @C'thulhu for the story. Don't worry bro, I'm not a fan of killing even if its self-defense. Just sharing my thoughts.
