I can't promise kay depende man gyud na sa tao (sales person) but sa akong experience, no, I don't get bombarded by calls making sales pitch (from companies nga di ko connected but have investments in). However, you might get calls/texts/updates/emails from time to time informing you about events or activities that the company is doing for its clients.

If you want to manage your own account (direct stock investing) it's best to ask yourself first, how much time I'm willing to allocate to learn this type of investment? Stock investing/trading is a business. Just like any type of business, it needs time and perseverance to realize in the future your investment expectation. However, even if you did, that doesn't exempt you from becoming a failure. There are ups and downs along the way. You have to accept that, otherwise, stock market is not the best route for you. But as you said, you're doing this for your kid's education. So I assume that you have at least 10 years moving forward. In this type of investment, time is your friend. A long-term outlook is very important. Should you choose this route, I hope that you'll find the best strategy that would fit your personality and will help you achieve your objective.

Very well said. I will invest in mutual funds soon. I already have sunlife insurance with investment factor. I will invest in pure stocks once mahuman nako akong st. peter and once ma settle namu amu finances sa akong partner. We don't have time to sit on stock market pa because we are focusing on growing our business. So far so good. We are getting profit out of the business we're running. Hopefully by 2015, we will focus on investing in stocks.

to TS, you can start a business or invest in stocks like what most people are suggesting.

@camzywinsy: mam about sa sunlife insurance ba, ask unta ko kung pila ang pinakaminimum investment nila, naa bay less than 5k a month or 10k/year?

and guys, ask sad ko unsa inyo ikasuggest nako, late 20's nako, single, working, unsa mas maayo, mutual funds o stock market? if trading sa stock market, dli ko maka full time because of my work. Libog ko unsay unahon kay karun pako mgstart ug save jud.

For me, three types of investments gyud, ang nindot.

    1. mutual funds
    2. government bonds
    3. stocks

though sa stocks, careful gyud ka, lisod magplay sa stock market, kung magpaagi kag broker, adto gyud ka sa nindot sa history or track record bahalag mahalon ang pagsugod. pero anyhow, depende gyud na kung unsa ka na klase na tawo when it comes to risks.
