I think some societies evolved out of this arrangement. Pwede man ka mo-argue na naa siya'y sociological og biological roots (ancestors of humans did have polygamous societies) but relationships aren't a magical, unchanging thing. I think sa Filipino society, mas ni-evolve ta og possessive na social trait (important ni siya na social trait in a society na dako ang gap between rich and poor/resources. dapat man nimo angkonon ang para imoha og survival sa imong pamilya) mao na lisud ni siya mabuhat.

Also ma factor in nimo ang social evolution as a result of christian norms and morality. Things like these have a lot of factors.
