Might> Right... On the roads in PH anyway.

On topic.... China has already stated that they will not accept the UN's conclusion, which is no surprise as they know they are out of line and making absurd claims. No doubt they will use force at some point. Perhaps we will give them a nosebleed and unite neighbors in resistance. Now would be a good time to patch up relations with Hong Kong and Malaysia.

PRC can ask for UN intervention also.
Might has already been proven. Time and time again, the military force has greater influence than virtue.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, right, reviews members of Japan Self-Defense Forces (SDF) during the Self-Defense Forces Day at Asaka Base, north of Tokyo. Japan relaxed a decades-old ban on military-related exports Tuesday, April 1, 2014, in a bid to expand joint arms development with allies and equipment sales to Southeast Asia and elsewhere. The new guidelines endorsed Tuesday by the Cabinet are part of Abe's push to bolster national security amid China's military expansion and North Korea's nuclear threat.

why would the U.N. side with China when China contravenes the UNCLOS and do not want the U.N. to be a part of the situation? It's plain and simple, they want to bully the Philippines into giving in and a mediator would not allow them to maximize the effectiveness. What the Philippines should be doing is strengthening bonds with the neighbors especially Japan, who would rather see China stop its land-grabbing.
