Can't compare directly stringed vs brass vs woodwind instruments...

Guitar can be played by itself or together with the player vocals, can't do with the same with the other two... Trombone can accompany a trumpet and horn plus some reed instruments well.

The oriental bamboo flute is a different genre altogether...
