Salamat and the PBA board has invited Chot Reyes to their January 30 board meeting to air his concern on the very little preparation time and the limitations on selecting the players he wants.

Remember that in the last FIBA Asia, PBA teams may choose not to lend more than 1 player to Gilas. Those who wish to lend more may do so, such was the case with Rain or Shine, Globalport and Talk'n Text

tenorio, castro, de ocampo, chan. pingris, fajardo, slaughter, canaleta, santos, belga, aguilar, norwood

I will post first the line-up that won the silver medal and then i will do my list.

    gilas team roster 2013

    1. Marcus Douthit 6'11 center
    2. Jimmy Alapag 5'10 point guard
    3. Jayson Castro 5'11 shooting guard
    4. Ranidel De Ocampo 6'8 forward
    5. Larry Fonacier 6'2 shooting guard
    6. Jeff Chan 6'2 shooting guard
    7. Gabe Norwood 6'4 small forward-guard
    8. LA Tenorio 5'9 point guard
    9. Japeth Aguilar 6'9 forward-center
    10. Gary David 6'3 shooting guard
    11. Marc Pingris 6'7 forward
    12. June Mar Fajardo 6'11 center

    and now my new roster

    1. Marcus Douthit 6'11 center
    2. Jimmy Alapag 5'10 point guard
    3. Jayson Castro 5'11 shooting guard
    4. Ranidel De Ocampo 6'8 forward
    5. Larry Fonacier 6'2 shooting guard Asi Taulava 6'10 forward-center
    6. Jeff Chan 6'2 shooting guard
    7. Gabe Norwood 6'4 small forward-guard
    8. LA Tenorio 5'9 point guard
    9. Japeth Aguilar 6'9 forward
    10. Gary David 6'3 shooting guard Greg Slaughter 7'0 center
    11. Marc Pingris 6'7 forward /Kelly Williams
    12. June Mar Fajardo 6'11 center

Now the reason why I add up greg slaughter is that this coming fiba 2014 we will be needing as much as big men that will front the gilas in the paint and greg can be up to the task. Asi Taulava is a veteran in international game so he can be a big help.
I add up kelly williams as an option to marc pingris since he can also do the balls that might be needed in the run for the team,
I'm just not sure with the eligibility of the 3 players I add up if they can play for gilas.

If you guys would ask me why take fonacier and david off the team, will they are too undersized for the positions.

PS: I am not quite sure bout the heights I posted just taken it from a blog.

for me, ill take out gary david and replace it with Greg Slaughter because of the obvious, G.David is inconsistent last FIBA Asia, he failed to show his explosiveness even playing infront of his countryman.

I dont like K.Williams to be added to roster, his inconsistency during FIBA Asia in 2011 caused the national team to f*cked up, TOs and cant converted FTs, he cant even defend. Id like to keep Pingris, he is the reason Gilas wins against Korea, he showed his heart even he was injured on that game.

Also, i dont like the mighty mouse to be part of the final lineup, although he is the team captain, but he is old and his minutes and contribution to the team is limited aside from the dagger 3pt shot against Korea last FIBA, when he is playing, the national team is getting deficits, reason for this is he keeps on attempting 3pt shots and less passing plus he is the 3rd option only to Castro and Tenorio. My suggestion is to bring Barroca back to Gilas.

Slaughter, Fajardo and Aguilar is the future of the national team and they should start the developing them while the big men of China are getting old and getting injured, yes im talking about Jianlian YI and the Wangs.

Time to get the energy of the Gilas back as the other teams in Asia are getting old!

SBP should take the World Cup participation as an opportunity to develop the young talent pool without sacrificing competitiveness so probably 1 or 2 who can provide steady leadership and the rest are young turks.

But di na lang ko mo post sa ako preferred lineup kay di man pod akoy mo coach, mas maayo si Chot Reyes ang mopili kay cya man mo coach haha

whoever is going to be in the final line up, I only wish that they would never lose their heart. They are obviously gonna be in a whole new level when it comes to basketball.
