The cloud formation in question is currently centered at around 10N 180. How could he long range predict a typhoon on the basis of that particular cloud formation?
IMHO taas ra kaayo ang time 2-3 weeks para magpredict ug typhoon so accurately given his radius of probability to be quite small (Visayas to South Luzon). Even assuming that he was using additional information from statistical models on weather forecasting or other models that requires faster computers.

Be that as it may, even the commercial weather forecasting agencies cannot forecast a typhoon so accurately given the above 2-3 weeks. Wow.

I'm pretty interested because since 1988 during the month of January the storm originating in the Pacific Ocean typically tracks north when it reaches about 165E longitude and never touch land in Philippines.

Although bloated ra kaayo iyang forecast to the point of calling it a hoax, I for one cannot deny that there could be a low pressure build up in the vicinity of Palau Island around the 10th/pm Jan. For long range forecast a low pressure about 200+ kms east of Mindanao as early as the 12th/pm Jan could exist. The Phil islands may be experiencing a low barometric pressure until around the 15th Jan.

Weather forecast for a particular area as we know changes daily so nothing is really certain or fix.

This news is quite an attention catcher,
possibilities are there but it is too early to make a credible conclusion.
I think it's just anxiety which instigates the pronouncement.
