The view that I developed for this thread is relevant. I'm putting out my opinion that I think the featuring of Fr. Skelton (due to his past child molestation conviction) as one of the worship leaders takes some shine off that event. Don't get me wrong. I think Bo's a very charismatic speaker and a great human being. Couldn't he have chosen another priest to lead that prayer rally with him?
There are several types of crimes that anyone has committed which I can look past, but crimes against children is just something I cannot ignore. I'm sorry. And when you consider the harshness that was dealt against those young students and the warm embrace given to a convicted child molester, that's a picture of hypocrisy...because that same forgiving act should've been extended to those STC students. Imagine those students working so hard to get to the last year of high school only to be denied graduation because they essentially were just having fun at the beach. They didn't hurt anybody. So how come no forgiveness here?
