this weekend we're going to tacloban.
susihon ta ni kung mga ordinaryong tao lng ba ni
or kadtong mga piniriso nga nakagawas + NPAs,
mao pa ko mo judge kung looters by nature ba gyud
ni sila according to some posters here.

sa katong mga tao na nanguha ug mga unnecessary things moabot rana ilang judgement. but for those na food and water ra gkuha ofcourse they need it for survival..

lots of off topic post here.we're talking about what actions are you going to take if you're in that kind of situation.we have a different topic for those kind of politicians.if you think you have the balls to shoot them then do it. this topic talks about what to do with looters and not plunderers in malacanang, batasan and senate.

    back to the discussions.

easier said than done... Do you have a choice on that situation? Sure ka mabuhi paka if naa ka didto?

Ningkamot gani nang uban dra nga ang ila rang kaugalingon ang gi cguro para maka survive so much more those who have families to feed.

And uban dili practical ang gipang kuha such as appliances and other useless crap of materials which cannot be used on that situation. Even if you are uncertain on the aftermath so you rather see your family members starve because you can't loot a food to feed to them.

It's EGO that's becoming the hindrance on that scenario that's why you rather want to die. And stop being conceited be practical sometimes.

And not all looters have the same motive in the first place.

    Questions for you TS:

If ikaw ang mo shoot you saw a pregnant women looting for milk and other necessity for her survival would you pull the trigger??

Or naa kay asawa nya didto ka ato nga sitwasyon would you loot for the basic needs para maka survive mo??

    Ont:

nagmahay ra gihapon tong ang gipang loot mga appliances og other material things kay di magamit

    TACLOBAN: EXAGGERATED
    by Marvin Xanth Geronimo

i wont be posting my whole experience as theres always some people who think they know better. But i do want to make things clear so you would have an idea what its really like being there.

    1. Tacloban prepared for Yolanda, to say that they didn't because of the their casualty number is a bit disappointing. They had families already relocated in designated evacuation centers even before the storm it was just sad that those places were destroyed as well.

    2. Dont go on thinking you know better by saying they should have left the seaside. Im not enitrely sure but even near the heart of the city there are sandwiched cars my guess is the water went as far as there when it hit.

    3. Step down your high horse from time to time. Dont be so quick to judge looters, i was looter. I looted medecine for the red cross, milk and food for the children. Walked 4 hours and dug into 2 foot empty plastic bottles to get at least something to drink and bring back some. The people who took flat screen tv's were the same people who offered to give me a drink and some lugaw. Those who looked like ex-convicts offered me something to eat. Almost all the time they are willing to lend a hand when you said you really need something. What they didnt show on the news was how people were helping each other amidst the catastrophe.

    4. These tv personalities and politicians majority are a piece of shit. Mar Roxas and his body guards never helped us retrieve families trapped on the cottages on the hotel that we were staying or assisted in helping the wounded. They just walked around clean tidy as if they couldnt be bothered. Ted Failon ate a hearty meal while some children barely had anything to eat and slept in comfy beds while children slept on marble floors. Love Anover panicked and asked us to go downtown to get military assistance like they were someone special. You dont hear those on the news do you? its all about what was recorded on the shot.

    5. It might look like chaos i guess thats what they want to show you, but there are police patrols, i personally went to the police station and ask about the rumors of hostility, they told us that its not true as they have not received any news about it. dont think for once that they are not doing their jobs, their manpower is spread so thin why? Because some of them are dead.

    6. Dont for once think that everyone hungry is hostile. Dont you dare think like "oh im trained, oh i have seen this happen somewhere, oh its going to happen here" its not a movie. People just want someone to talk to, hear their story ask them how they are, i found out that listening to what they have to say helps them and it helps you.

    7. There are no zombies. You can talk to the people sometimes you would be surprised as to how they can help and how much they are willing to help.

    8. No one is special. You might have the best training, equipment, plans or what have you. At the end of the day youre one of them, you are in the same situation as them, to think otherwise. Is i think quite foolish.

    9. To think its always going to be this way is foolish as well. Im counting 3 to 4 days if relief and resources cant make it, it will be chaotic.

    10. Ego is useless.

The more you find, the less you lose... find something in each person that you meet.

I am no expert, again theres going to be someone here who has tons of things to say because of his knowledge or expertise. This is what i experienced, im not a victim nor a survivor, but for 5 days i was a citizen of Tacloban.

This will be my last post about what happened.
you can read it here. hence, all of you want those looters to be dead.

-New Orleans police were ordered to shoot those who will loot because it could be that their government had well provided for their needs. Looting for them could mean that someone is just so greedy to so at that time.

Tacloban? After the typhoon, did the government provided them with their basic needs immediately?

Looting in such a time sounds so barbaric yet it is very understadable because it means "survival." However, doing such reflected also who we are as a people. For those who got the goods, do they have to wait that they will be looted instead of evenly distributing their stocks to their fellow Taclobanons? They cannot decide because if they can still sell, they will surely sell those for higher prices!

Machiavelli said, "the ends justifies the means." If I have to loot to save old people and infants (because those who got the goods won't give what they have) then YES!

The "looting in Tacloban" gave everyone a picture of who we are as a nation. So divided! Even the government officials who are given the mandate to protect the welfare of the people were not able to negotiate and facilitate the distribution of the resources that they have in the city (may it be owned by private individuals or the government).

I haven't been there yet and everything I got is from the news or the individuals who have their relatives stuck in Tacloban. The post I've read from an individual who was in Tacloban at least gave me the idea that is not sensationalized by the media. Despite the situation, a lot still has the human instinct that is apart from survival, TO HELP ONE ANOTHER.

i'll say it again for clarification.if looters will come to MY HOUSE to ransack it then i won't hesitate to shoot them.
    looting is justified?

if you decide to loot, being shot at is all part of the risk and that should be what's on your mind. you forgot that it takes two to tango.if you loot you could get hurt because you're trying to take somebody else' stuff.some might give in to your intimidation others will offer resistance that you might not be able to overcome.

if you think it is right to steal from me then i also think it is right to shoot you.

my emphasis here is if MY HOUSE is the target of looters. outside my fence then that's the government's problem.

DON'T LOOT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET HURT.

At last, a sensible post in this thread.

In my opinion, looters who forcefully take from others should be and will be shot. One thing that aggravates a crisis situation is the breakdown of law and order. With this situation, the manner at which aide is being delivered is greatly hampered because the aide givers also fears for their safety.
