I think ROI will depend a lot on these things: [1] Location, [2] Service/Quality and [3] Price
Ideal location is high traffic area and duol sa offices and schools. If schools, expect to earn well from photocopies and printing. Kung offices, from printing ads (tarps, flyers, calling cards, brochures, etc.)
Service/Quality and price I think go hand in hand. By looking at the economics of it, maybe one challenge that you'll face (labi na sa print ads) is competition. Daghan na kaayo ug nag ads printing karon nga barato kaayo. Can you level their price or better yet, go lower without compromising quality/service and your profits? If so, dako2x na nga edge.
Maybe daogon pud nimo sa marketing. Considering that you're new to the market, dapat aggressive ka sa pagmarket sa imong products/services para mailhan ka. If nindot ang pagkamarket, rest assured the rest will follow (basta nindot put ang quality and service).
Another suggestion, maybe its much better to consider the sustainability rather than looking at when ang ROI. If sustainable ang business, ROI will follow and it will generate more profits for you in the long run.
I'm not that familiar sa details sa printing business but I'm just looking at it on a macro (general) point of view.
    Hope this helps.

Same ta ug gina-set up karon TS. More on printing services ko karon pero add-on siya sa akong pisonet. Nakapalit nako ug printer for documents ug printer para sa photo. Ako gamit karon Canon MX457, gi-order nako online unya gi-ship diri. Converted to CISS na, mo-photocopy siya ug long sized bond paper through ADF. Ok na gihapon kay gamay ra man ang market sa enlarger/reducer.

OT: Taga-CDO ka TS? Naa man gud ka anang word nga "lugar".

    1. The most expensive machine is the tarp printer. Some models that can print 5 feet across will cost around 150k up to 500k. The print heads for CMYK which consists of 4 heads may cost 20k per piece. This should be replaced after a certain duty cycle period. The other machines ranging from printers to xerox machines usually cost less than 50k.
    2. ROI is impossible at 6 months. In this type of setup, you don't make profits per order. You do it by volume. Offer discounts based on brackets.
    3. Location is pretty straightforward. If it is accesible to road traffic then it is good enough. Tarps can be handcarried or carried on shoulders and placed on deliver vehicles.
    4. 5 People is good enough. 2 for graphic artists, 1 printer technician, 1 admin/manager, 1 assistant to printer technician/deliver guy.
    5. Get your printing business running first and once it becomes stable then ask your customers what they want to add to the business.
