Thread: Unmasked

Let me try to pick your brains a bit, but this is for those who are wearing masks, aside from what had been mentioned, is there any other reason why we use this online persona that we have created to talk and to connect to people, or is this your true self?

It's my true self! heheheheh! Cuz people in the real world are judgemental..... So I can be as irritating, cliche, dumb, smart, daring and approachable as I could be here online. And this is my nougat-y, chewy surprise center although in person, I'm this tough hard, candy shell of a million layers and Im not easy to get along with (unless I open up on my own! Or if Im totally confortable with that person already) cuz Im usually hiding within my tough outer shell. I am that darn shy! ..... and silent!

Ever since I started posting in the forum, I've always showed
my thoughts and feelings on certain topics that I can relate to.
They are a reflection of who I really am as a person offline.
There are times I simply hold back as I type when emotions
overwhelm me especially topics which I share the same fate
that I end up being mean and even the type who take things
way too personal. It's true, there are several threads which
have become my advocacy that I'm so eager to help the TS
in figuring out his/her dilemma because at the end of the day,
it makes me happy knowing that I've helped some peeps who
go through hell in their lives.

What you read is simply what you get from me once we meet.
Besides, hiding behind the username with a fake persona is too
taxing for me. I rather be hated and misunderstood by being
real than being loved for the person I'm trying to build up which
    I'm totally not.

The only difference between what we do here in the Forum and in the outside world is - Opportunity and environment. Its nothing to do with the MASK, we just dont have the same Environment and Opportunity to express what we really are. One good example is during drinking session with your friends, in there we will talk and discuss things with people who also want to talk same as here. Its because we have the Opportunity and environment to which we can interact.
