They've been doing funeral rites on the Gagnes for a long time, ang problema jud ani is India's concentrated overpopulation problem--kind of like our problems in certain slums (minus the corpses, most of the time).

It is an accepted way of Hindu life.. strange to our eyes.. but.. they are fine with it.
