yes, Open-CL is AMD's turf... bisan Nvidia supports Open-CL too... they just can't beat AMD on this field...
scientific and engineering computation is still in Nvidia's turf though... and my statement is true for the Tesla... AMD don't have offerings for this target market... or if they have, it can't beat the Tesla... we just don't know since we are not in that crowd who uses GPUs in scientific jobs... except, some of us here are in the Design works... like nila dha sa Lear (Design), Timex (Design), Fairchild (PTG)... mention lang ko'g tulo ka company sa mepz na nag gamit ug mga work stations... naka Quadro ang GPU sa gamit nila... but some unit also used FirePro too... but definitely, not Tesla GPUs...
maong sa akoang unang post, gi post gyud nako na kaning super-computer performance, para ra ni sa pang puno sa kaban... its not applicable to us since most of us here are gamers... some us here use their rigs for business like 3D rendering, designing, photo/video editing... in w/c, a desktop PC is capable to do...

The R9-290x has 5 TFlops of computer power compared to last gen's HD7970 Ghz Ed. which has 4.3 TFlops.

human ani... monitor napud birahan ani nila... 120 Hz will become the standard refresh rate then mag 240 Hz napud ang uber expensive one ani...
4K will become the standard resolution... then the uber ones will go as high as 8K napud...

Naa bay 120hz nga non-3d monitor? Sa ako nakita so far, puro with 3d ang 120hz. Mahal2 lang, dili ko fan sa 3d thingy hehe. And yes, 4k. Makapanagi.ti ko maghuna, kanus-a pa tawn haha.

wla pa pud ko maka kita'g 120 Hz na non-3D... wla man pud ko mag research sa monitor diri... hehee... kay contented pa ko kaayo sa current gamit man... pero, padung na ni dha siguro sa 120 Hz (non-3D) kay flicker-free man ning mga taas ug refresh rates...
bana2x nko, by next year, sugod na ning mga 4K monitors ug abot... karon, 4K kay dagko pa man ug sizes... abot na niguro sa desktop size like 24" (mao ni ang swak na desktop size para sa akoa) ang 4K resolution in 2 yrs time... hehehe...
