    Default networking question

    gud day guys.

I assume nga daghan makatubag aning akong pangutana diri.

sa ako man gung sitwasyon, ga plano ko nga mogamit ug dual wan router sa akong gitrabahuan. naa mi duha ka ISP. ang duha ka modem/router sa ISP kay gi set in bridge mode. naay naka konek nga another router sa modem/router sa ISP. kaning naka konek nga router serves as the dialer para makakuha mig connection from the ISP.

sa pagkakaron, we have two running dhcp servers. ang usa connected sa 1st ISP. then ang laing usa ka dhcp server, connected sa another ISP. basically, each dhcp server has separate internet connection.

my question is, if mag dual wan router ko, dili ba mag conflict ang akong duha ka servers since they both serve as dhcp server?

please recommend me on the proper thing to do especially tong naka try na ug set up ani nga situation.

    salamat

1st question you need to ask...do your ISP give you a static or a dynamic IP from the internet side?

2nd question, is it a public IP or just a private one ? by private we mean it is only within your ISPs internally
assigned address space (the one they are allowed to use i.e. carrier grade nat or just belong to RFC 191 while
public means it is globally routable, meaning any computer in the internet can reach that address publicly.

3rd, how do you assign ip address in your local network (static or dynamic)?

Dili na cya maconflict. Each of the ISP router are running DHCP... pero kay ang imong paslakan ani kay ang WAN port man sa dual wan router... so these IPs will not reach the PC clients kay ang Dual WAN router has its own DHCP server. ang imong PC Clients will get DHCP service from the dual wan router... not from your ISP router...

    Bro,

I have answered your query on the sticky thread. Then i probably follow up on you on this thread.

unsai gamit nmu nga dual wan router? unsai model ani? Please see below requirements for your setup:

    WAN requirements:
    1. Can allocate 2 wan interface ports
    2. Device should be able to perform WAN load balance
    3. Dynamic NAT for internet access

    LAN requirements:
    1. Setup with DHCP with the same network you have before.
    2. The dual WAN router should be able to perform PBR (Policy Base Route)
    2.1. Example: 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.50 route to ISP1
    2.2. Example: 192.168.1.51 to 192.168.1.254 route to ISP2

Naka setup nako ani nga scenario bro to a several customers provided you have the proper equipment in hand. If dili capable ang imo dual WAN using PBR then I think you can't achieve on what you want to happen.
