ATI's Hypermemory and Nvidia's Turbo Cache Technologies... "good old marketing strategies that works before to a bucketful of crowd"... in fact, tanan mga GPUs (from old to the current techs), mogamit na sila'g system ram allocation... kay kun dili na madala sa onboard VRAM ang gi require sa software (games in particular), mao na ilahang gamiton as temporary dynamic VRAM...

Yup and both hypermemory and turbo cache were incorporated only on low-end cards and during it's launch back in 2006 if I'm not mistaken, games barely uses above 256mb of memory. Hapit ghapon ko mailad ana back then when I was hunting for a 7 series Gefore card. The saleman blabs about how the Geforce 7100 GS can play games excellently cause it can utilize system memory up 512mb. Good thing wa ko nagpadala and went with the 7600 GST. Same concept with wasting say 4GB of vram on a GT 630. It's useless. By the time the game does uses 4GB of memory on that card it will be a slideshow.

hehehe... mine is still working... its an ASUS EAH5450... actual onboard VRAM is only 256 MB then disclosed sa box na HM512 MB... akoa ning gi palit para sa HTPC sa akoang anak... we'll it suits the need...

sakto gyud ka bro, for the GT630 w/ 4GB, wla gyud na'y gamit for gaming or for single monitor. but for multi-monitor, maka tabang nang excess VRAM nya... like sa security monitoring system or work na need ug dual monitor or triple... in 1080p resolution or greater... lower than this, wla gihapon gamit... mahal2x lang... hehehe...

kaning marketing strategy gyud... himoon mana sa mga GPU manufacturers para mo boost ang sales... kun pataka'g hamag ang buyer kay lami kaayo in papers or print, piti gyud... hehehe...
