ok so far its this...
2.4ghz core 2 duo with the badaxe board and kingston 4gb 800...
have to retire more of my IDE hdd than expected (some are just a month old) since the badaxe can only handle 2 ide devices...meaning i have to upgrade to SATA and im forced to take advantage of the 3.0GB bandwidth of those drives...i shouldnt be complaining right?!
high end 750watt power supply fitted in a cheap casing with many drive bays for the hdd.
a cheap sparkle video card with dual output i think will be fine since i dont play games

what i retained from my older system...
160gb SATA drive as primary OS drive on my new pc
my 10 year old ergo keyboard
7 year old A4tech mouse (im thinking of getting an optical or laser type cguro)
intrus pad
LG dvdram drive
firewire pci card (bx board has built in firewire but this adds 3 more firewire ports for the HDD enclosures)
19inch lcd and crt monitors
thats bout it...
