Well it confirms some of my questions. Since it was already the time were marcos was already ill/already ousted from power then we can safely assume it was NOT his fault at all or rather since it was almost 1986 it was no longer marcos effectively running the country in this specific function it but could have been General Fabian Ver or Fidel V. Ramos. These sites were also pretty common here in the rural areas of Cebu, there were many skirmishes between PC forces and NPA sparrow units.

Also, did the violence stop after Marcos was ousted from power? No, in fact Cory had more people killed. Mendiola Massacre, the purging of the leftists, etc. The only recognition she gave was to a select few communists and she let Joma Sison leave the country. Look at what he is enjoying now, and I honestly think the NPA is a lost cost now. That Beersum guy was just here to try to stir things up, as it is the case with exteme left communist who advocate violence as a means of overthrowing a de jure government.

The bodies were unclaimed because the families knew if they went after them the military would know if they were communist sympathizers. No media coverage was also taking place because they were no longer interested in covering such since their task was already over when they successfully helped oust marcos. If you also notice after Cory media was also very active in demonizing Ramos, Erap, and GMA, and NOW IT IS VERY SILENT ON NOYNOY AQUINO!!!

1) In what year did that happen? prior to 1986, until early 90's
2) Which part of the country were those sites common? we lived in a rural area within W. Visayas
3) What was the identity of the dead bodies? most were unknown, unclaimed by families. most of them were buried in unmarked graves in the municipal cemetery.

Wether or not perpetuated by the military or by the communist or by whoever, the Marcos era in our place saw a great deal of violence. I can remember the army detachment in front of our house, there was a curfew at 7:00 PM, and armed patrol every morning -- but my family was happy kay na minimize ang kawat sa farm. to think, only 3 people has the immunity from the army and the NPA -- the priest, the teacher and the war veteran. im telling the situation as it was, bro. honestly the people were not concerned of investigating anymore because the authorities are helpless. anyway, they could tell if buhat sa military or NPA ang mga patay kay naa bya na cla crime signatures. hilom na lang ang mga taw kay hostage man cla between 2 camps.

To blame Cory's admin alone -- that would be unfair. I was not born yet at that time but MOST of the killings occured before Cory. NPA rebels were busy purging their ranks of government spies, the military were busy executing NPAs and their sympathizers.

Was Marcos' term better for us? NO. the insurgency problem started and NPA was stronger.
Was Cory's term any better? NO. the insurgency problem was weaker but continued until 1995.

Marcos' project : ARTESIAN WELL ug CR duol sa barangay hall.
Cory's project: PRIMARY SCHOOL for Grade 1 and 2.

I can say that it was Ramos who was able to instill peace in the rural areas. but that's another story.
In terms of project, it was Erap who had the most -- concrete roads, water system, electrification in just 4 years as president.
Worst was GMA -- even the farmers had none to eat because the price of rice went up from 24 to about 60 pesos at one point.

Common people like us would go only for the tangible benefits. di na ta maghisgot ug mga GDP, inflation, %literacy kay di karelate ang mga ordinaryong taw ana.
