In MT 4 , Jesus fasted for 40 nights.

When you say nag sugo or commanded , it comes in a lot of forms . You would not see it in words you expect to see . But by examples of Christ , it follows that for us Christians to follow Jesus is a way of being Christ like just how it is portrayed in the apostles being the first ordained priest of the Roman Catholic Church headed by St. Peter , the Vicar of Christ.

I gave you the example of fasting by Jesus Christ , I hope you read the gospel according to Matthew to clearly see why fasting is needed but not required.

unsa man jud ang tinuod nga fasting bro? 3days night and day with out eating and drinking? or 40days night and day? or thursday and friday lang panahon sa holy week?

mabuhi ba kita kung dili ta mukaon or muinom for 3days? dili kaha ta mapasmo or mamatay?

Si Boyen ni inquire man ug unsa na book in the New Testament makita literally si Jesus or the Apostles ni command ug " YOU SHOULD FAST " which in the case sa OT daghan didto makita na fasting commanded by God. Esther is a book sa OT man.
