Those phrases are correct. Based on what I know, you use "more of" when you need to have a greater amount of something. For example: To conserve more of your battery, use less apps and games. You use more on if you want to elaborate on something. For example you are talking to someone about a certain topic and you want to add to the discussion, you could say: "My friend who's coming over can tell us more on what we're talking about."
