    Default FPS difference sa 14' 1600x900 ug 17' 1920x1080?

I'm trying to decide between a 14' with a 1600x90p native versus a 17' with 1920x1080 native. Basically the same specs, slightly slower CPU on 14' only. I've heard and read that FPS should be better on the 14' due to the screen size and resolution, but how much more should it be? If it's significant, I may just opt for the 14' since I don't want to be playing MMOs on a 17' and be choppy anyway. If it's minimal, I'll probably stick with the 17'.

Any input would be great. Thanks!

it would depend on your GPU bro... what's your GPU man diay pud? the rule of thumb...

"The lower the resolution, the faster will be the FPS of any game... on the same GPU"...

dako kaayo nang performance difference ang resolution na imohang gi mention... perhaps, 15% minimum or more ang fps difference nila...

The difference would be 44%. Around 1.44x more pixels than the 1600x900, so it would come as no surprise that it would be 44% more demanding. Aesthetic-wise, they have almost the same pixel density (129.58 for the 17" and 131.14 for the 14") so moving down in real estate wont have an adverse effect.

IMO, laptops shouldnt be made bigger than 15.6". I used to have a 15.6" 1080p HP and i felt that there was no point in having a laptop bigger than that because that alone weighed like an anvil, not to mention that i suffered backaches carrying it.

except if the game (maxed out ) is cpu intensive difference between those two resolution is minimal worst case no difference at all ( severe bottleneck )

Thanks sa response bro! Mao ni ang duha ako gi pili.an:

Razer Blade Pro: Extreme Performance Gaming Laptop - Razer United States - 17 inch

Razer Blade: The World's Thinnest Gaming Laptop - Razer United States - 14 inch

Same GPU sila, GTX 765M. Nag decide pa man gud ko if worth it mag 17' para nindot ang pag duwa. Dako ba difference ang processor sa duha?

Thanks for the response! By 44%, would you mean the 14' would have 44% more FPS than the 17'? So a 50 FPS on a 17' would translate to 70+ FPS on the 14'?

The laptops I'm planning to get are really light in general, 6.5 pounds on the 17' and 4 pounds on the 14'. The only reason I'm seriously considering the 14' is I'm afraid the 17' screen size might be a bit too obstructive when I'm using it in school (lecture halls).

Are games in general more CPU or GPU intensive though?

Not exactly in that degree if you convert it in frames. But yeah you can assume it to be somewhat like that, provided you are comparing the same GPU and CPU.

Then it's done. Im absolutely recommending you get the 14" if you will be bringing to places. Not to mention 6.5 lbs isnt exactly light.

Scratch my post, looks like the processor of the razer blade is more than capable. But is there any reason for your choice? For the same price you can have a much faster laptop gaming wise. Ang the GTX 765M will struggle at 1080p for most recent games at max. Unless if you are willing to sacrifice graphic settings for the sleek look.

    I see.

Sadly, if the comparison was purely on the screen size and portability, I would have definitely opted for the 14'. One of the big issues with the 14' is the lack of an ethernet port, which would need me to purchase another adapter and use a USB port just for the internet. Current situation requires my laptop to have an ethernet port; no wifi here =/I still haven't ordered it yet, and I'm planning to go to a store to do some test runs with a 14' and 17' to see if the difference is actually very noticeable or not.

Thank you so much for the input!

Yeah if I'm looking at the cost-benefit, it's almost definitely not worth it. I'm already running an arguably stronger laptop with my M17x R4, but the mobility is really an issue. I can't deny that the design and look really gets me too. Lol.

So if I were to make a VS list, 14' on the left and 17' on the right:

Smaller screen, better FPS versus larger screen
    Processor versus slightly stronger processor
No ethernet port versus Ethernet port
    4 pounds versus 6.5 pounds
    .66 inches versus .88 inches
    $1,999 vs $2,499

For every pro that I can find on the 14', I also find a pro on the 17'. Personally, the bigger screen is really appealing. I just don't want to be hunched back on a seat squinting into the 14' for gaming versus just leaning back for the 17' =/

    Edit:

Also another concern, my brother has an m14x. We both played the same MMO before and I noticed that due to my 17', I was able to fit more hotbars into my central screen than he could. I could be mistaken, but was this because of the screen size difference? I'd be sold to the 14' if the FOV or UI sizes of the 14' and 17' are exactly alike, with the 14' just having smaller icons and such.Basically, will my 17' gaming UIs look exactly the same on the 14'? Or will the screen shrink, but UI stay the same and overlap each other?

    My 17' 1920x1080 looked like this: http://rf-online.mmoscreenshot.com/s...screenshot.jpg

While his 14' 1366x768 looked like this: http://www.jetdoh.com/RF/images/nxzcw.jpg

Notice mine having more room for windows and such? While his is cramped up. Should I expect this if I were to go to a 14'?

It was because of the resolution, dili sa screen size.

I saw videos on GW2 on a m14x and m17x, murag mas huot ang UI sa m14x. Ana jud na?
