Thread: My Planning RIG

sa 3d rendering and animation, 100% jud ang workload sa cpu but not 100% on ram ug gpu. 6gb raman gani ang gigamit sako whole system even naka 12gb ko, running 2 3ds max, cad, net and music .mao dapat minimum of 8gb ang ram nga gamiton...ang kanang gpu, gamit rajud na sa modeling, kung complex na ang scene nya daghan naa kayo geometry and lines, gpu na gadala ana....suwayi ayaw gamit og video card, built in lang sa mobo, nya erotate rotate inyo scene diba lag kaayo.

@TS: I think tma si senpai91, yaw lng kaayo invest sa GPU kun kana lng jud particular imong use. Gamit nako laptop w/ GT540, using SU and 3dmax + vray for rendering. so far la problem mski hi poly scenes. highly recommended jud ang NVIDIA gfxcard ky naay issue ang SU on some of ATI cards.. try to read reviews or test jud. nakaexperience ko ani years ago thats why always ko ga nvidia pra way mahay. If kaya pa budget try dual monitor set-up,. Ideal kaayo sa workstation labi na multi-tasking. 2d works sa 1monitor, then 3d modeling on the other 1 or FB.. hehe

I have tried that software and others as well like 3D Studio Max and Maxon Cinema4D and all of those are very cpu dependent. In the world of multi threaded application it is not less is more when it comes to its hardware components but more is more. More CPU core means more power. More GPU means that you won't be having a head ache about the quality of the frame.

The world of CG is so vast and its worth the time of venturing.

and TS for more referrence about CGI go to cgchannel.com dira tanan inspiration nako. lau rakau ang deviant art diri. you will see matte paintings, photo realism art and etc from various artist.

Kung anhi kas MAYA 2013, 3D Studio Max and Maxon Cinema4D, i think gamit ani nila opengl, so adto na hapak sa imung cpu not gpu inig rendering pero kailangan kag updated specs sa imung gpu like opengl etc.

Ang ako point sad mas dali mahuman ang rendering if gpu with cuda cores imu gamiton.

    OT:

Gamit sad na pang convert ug video, mas dali mahuman but specific hardware and software.

OT: i'm not comparing both in their overall aspects. i'm just stating that when it comes to CGI as i have stated cgchannel as the better reference than DA since all artist their are CGI professional.

OnT: Why man mas dali ang pag render sa GPU it took them 20secs to finish the render than the CPU that it took them only 19.7? Anyhow the difference is negligible. My only advice is do not invest much on the GPU make your system future proof by investing on good CPU since a GPU can easily be replaced/upgraded if you ever want, rather than the cpu which will require you to repalce the mobo and ram(kana kung nag change nag standards ang JEDEC to DDR4 since we are in 2013 naay possibility in the next gen mag DDR4 na) and i don't think they will be replacing yet the PCI-E so for GPU upgrade there is still a lot of option in the near future.

    OT:

CPU encode elapse time = 00:09:57 minutes
CUDA mp4 encode elapse time took only = 00:02:30 minutes

Gi sulti sad sa video uploader once gani gamit kag CUDA kay relax ra diay kaau ang cpu so meaning mas loaded ang gpu ani nga point at the same time mas pas-pas cya compara sa cpu mag render/encode etc...
