Default Exchange Traded Funds ( ETF)

ETF is launching anytime soon! Über excited! However , I've got questions. ETF is like a stock that can be bought and traded and that means that u can buy this in an online broker? Am I right? I'm using COL as of the moment and would like to jump in an ETF bandwagon when it comes out. I would like to open BPI trade account para duha na akong online broker. COL for regular stocks and BPI Trade for ETFs but I'm not sure if ETF can be bought online which I assume na Pwede coz it says na ETFs are like stocks.

Would this be a good idea having two online broker? For security sake sad coz whatever happens to COL, at least naa ko BPI or whatever happens to BPI, at least naa ko COL.

    Insights mga investors, please.

Once ETF comes out, it can be bought from your online stock broker like any stocks listed in the PSE.

the success of our ETF depends on the government's will to boost trade, better financial reforms, focus on reduction of poverty levels, and job creation. as this is the environment that will provide more confidence to international investors, which is actually the primary purpose of opening an ETF. This is also the risk factor that investors are considering. even if forecast is great, volume may be thin if investors don't see any value with our ETF compared to our asian neighbors. so, wait and see muna ako on this one.

Regardless if it's for ETF or any other reason, having more than one broker is advisable.

our ETF performance will be driven much like the Mutual Fund performance in my opinion..price action are highly dependent on the equities, index or sector it's tracking..so it will be dependent on our equity market.
