well, its very apparent you dont know CFI Coop that well but here you are making a comment nonetheless.

dont you know that the board of directors are pre-selected by the garcias and the election is actually a sham? ask any CFI member, yes even a garcia minion, and he/she will tell you this is true. now, pray tell me how is it that you say it's easy for the members to change the board? or why not ask a former board member Atty. Job Pagusara, and see from his demeanor what actually is going on.

don't you know that CFI gives donations (millions by the way) to politicians without first consulting the members. yes, this is true, thanks to their pre-selected board.

don't you know that not so long ago, members who apply for loans have to go through the governor's office?

don't you know that not so long ago, members who avail of loans are practically forced to buy stuffs? yes, the net proceeds of loans are automatically deducted for the purchase of these stuffs you dont even dream of buying!

don't you know that not so long ago, dividends are distributed not in the form of cash (as ought to be) but in the form of tupperwares or other items?

the list can go on ad infinitum. This is how rotten these people are. im not trying to sound self-righteous here but i call a spade a spade when i see one. but i insist you dont take my allegations hook line and sinker, i earnestly beg you to ask any relative of yours who is a well-meaning and knowledgeable CFI member and ask him/ her whether or not i am exaggerating.

i dont know how to put this gently, but its very clear you are simply naive.

do you actually think these anomalies are discussed in the seminar? any member worth his salt should know his rights, nay, not only that, should defend his rights, otherwise the wise would run circles around him and make a fool out of him. that is why its important that you cannot just sit there and be dazzled by the sums of money they let you loan. remember, it is your money, not theirs.

if you say nagpataka lang ko, then why dont you try to run as candidate for the board, every member has a right to anyway. i bet you wont even get as far as being declared as candidate. have you not ever wondered why the number of candidates are exactly the same number of seats available for the board? i'll tell you why, its because these candidates are already hand-picked! the members have no other choice but to vote for these people as there are no other candidates declared. its a shame that for all your being a cebuano, you havent noticed these things! mas maayo pa diay ang mga myembro sa CFI nga taga bohol kay naka pangutana pa bahin ani nga binuang!

so, the next time you attend a seminar, why dont you try and ask the moderator about this. i'm thrilled of what she is going to say. and while you're at it, ask her also about the tupperwares, the stuffs you are forced to purchase off your net loan proceeds, etc. etc.

    Default 2 federations choose Rama

    2 federations choose Rama

    By Princess Dawn H. Felicitas
    Sunday, May 5, 2013

TWO federations that claim to have 60,000 members in Cebu City endorsed yesterday the slate of Mayor Michael Rama’s Team Rama for the May 13 elections.

The Urban Poor Solidarity Federation said they are supporting Team Rama because they believe the group will help uplift the lives of the urban poor.

“Daghan na kaayo siya ug nahimo sulod sa tulo ka tuig. Usa niana, gi-tarong niya ang pag-implementar sa socialized housing program sa Syudad (The mayor has done so many things in just three years. For one, he implemented the City’s socialized housing program well),” said the federation’s Samsin Chiu.

Reno Ventusa, who is also a member of the group, said Rama fast-tracked the approval of the subdivision plans of the different homeowners’ association in the city, allowing urban poor families to immediately own the titles to their home lots.

Ventusa recalled that before, it took three years to approve the subdivision plans. “Kapila namo na gibalik balik sa City Hall pero wa gyu’y nahimo. Pero karon, dali na lang kayo (We kept going to City Hall before, but nothing happened. Now, things get done faster),” he said.

Evangeline Abejo said that the Urban Poor Solidarity Federation is the umbrella organization of some 300 homeowners’ associations, with an estimated 50,000 members in the city.

Aside from the urban poor sector, the vendors who belong to the Cebu City Vendors’ Association (CCUVA) also endorsed Team Rama.

    Decent stalls

Maria Pino of CCUVA said they are “strongly supporting” Team Rama because they believe that the group can improve the city’s markets and implement programs and projects that will address vendors’ needs.

Pino said she thanked the mayor for establishing the Garbo Asenso Sumbanan Alyansa (Gasa) Office, saying it has helped address some of the concerns of the vendors, such as providing decent stalls for them.

Pino said CCUVA has an estimated 10,000 members.

Sought for comment on the endorsement, Rama said he is thankful for the urban poor and the vendors’ support.

The group, he added, will continue to reach out and meet with people in the sitios to ensure their victory in the elections.

Rama is seeking his first reelection as mayor against a former political ally, Rep. Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south).

Also yesterday, the urban poor groups signed a six-point covenant or social contract with the mayor, which the latter pledged to implement if he gets reelected.

    Promises

The pledges include land acquisition, community development and environmental protection; employment and livelihood; a social protection and services program; asset reforms and resource generation; and engagement and participation of the urban poor in good governance.

Under social protection, the covenant states there should be no demolition and eviction if there is no certificate of compliance with the Urban Development and Housing Act. Social protection also includes the provision of social security benefits, a health care system, and education for informal settlers and urban poor families.

Meanwhile, the Urban Poor Solidarity Foundation belied the claim of Marlene Paracueles of the Urban Poor Alliance that the Department of Interior and Local Government has forfeited the P50-million fund for poverty alleviation programs intended for Cebu City.

“To date, there is no document to prove the forfeiture of the said fund,” they said in a press statement.

The claim was that the DILG forfeited the fund because the City failed to submit a Local Poverty Reduction Action Plan.

    Risky’

Cebu City South District Congressman Osmeña, in his regular Friday press conference, questioned CFI’s 25-percent patronage refund and interest from fixed deposits.

“It’s a sign that it should be investigated because the safety of depositors is at risk,” Osmeña said.

He explained that the interest is too high and there’s a possibility that it (CFI) might end up like the Legacy Group and Rural Bank of Subangdaku that went into receivership by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp.

Osmeña also encouraged depositors to take their money out of CFI.

to be honest, both tom's & mike's administration can share on criminality, prostitution, drugs, etc.

but ang naka-apan lang ni Mike, mas daghan ang ang kriminals nigara. Sa prostitution pod, I never heard on news our police are raiding on red light district. Even these prostitutes are aggressive on going on near Baseline areas, Mango Square, Capitol. Time of Tom, there were plenty of raids as we can hear it in the news. daghan pa ang mga prostis & pimps madakpan. Nawala pa ang mga prostis & pimps sa uptown areas.

As for drugs, I am very doubtful on Mike that around 2009 or 2010 nga acting mayor siya that this was used by Alvin Garcia during 2010 elections.

It seem that you are familiar with CFI Coop bro. I like to request from you to answer 2 questions as raised by congressman Tomas: (1) is it true that CFI is giving 25% dividend?, and (2) is it true that CFI is a scam like legacy?

Thanks bro, I guess some istoryans like me would like to know the answer
