If there's no other dogs in your home that your poodle can play or socialize with, you must have him walked daily from 30 minutes to 1 hour. At 2 months, he should have at least 2 sets of 5 in 1 or better if 8 in 1 (Canigen L). I wouldn't recommend that you socialize him with other dogs until his third vaccine plus anti-rabies is complete. You will have to get him dewormed and vaccinated from Heartworm as well (I do mine every 3 to 4 months).

Once his vaccines are complete, you have to get your poodle socialized as often as possible.

The games I use to mentally stimulate him is I make him guess where I placed his treats? I get three cups and place his treat on one of them, I shuffle them and he will guess (or know) by using his nose. Its really fun!

Another is the Kong toy? you can find cheaper versions as well. The treat is placed inside the toy and your poodle will gnaw on that toy until he can figure out how to get the treats out.

I recently bought a dog feeding bowl from amazon where they will have to solve several challenges before they get to eat their food. .

Another is, you should give them dental chews or nylabone, or raw bone (Pork or Beef) but they have to be huge so he will not accidentally swallow them. Don't give them chicken bone as it can splinter and may hurt his intestines. Having something "allowable" to chew is a good thing to prevent them from chewing other stuff (i.e. shoes, baseboards, paper, books) but it will be unavoidable sometimes so be prepared.

Some poodles, mine for example, are not too fond of the ball game or running after a ball. Out of my 8, only one is willing and that is Tyler (since he is naturally submissive and he really loves to please). My other poodles love to please another way.

You just have to observe what your poodle's inclinations are. You'll figure it out over time

Later on, you may want to hire a dog trainer to help them develop their inherent skills and learn about some table manners (obeying on command, etc). I have a problem with that because my alpha bitch (a mixed breed but so pretty) is quite spoiled being my first dog. That's something you will have to avoid. A spoiled dog is never a good thing especially when you decide to get more dogs. You have to learn how to discipline them (positive reinforcement). Although Poodles have a very calm temperament, never use negative punishment on them. They are so intelligent and it will really hurt them, and may not even forget. The risks are, they won't come to you nor obey you. They will not bite - it will take a lot of abuse to force them to bite. They are really like humans - they have more patience than humans in fact.

Another is, make sure to trim their paws and face/muzzle. Keep it dry as those areas tend to be moist, and their hair are really thick. I would suggest to shave your poodle's hair so it can grow thicker and beautiful when it grows older. I didn't do that with mine so I have to wait a while before my poodle's hair thickens to my desired volume.

Yes the owner is Lucy Chan from Manila. She also has several standard poodles fro OSI which she also shows.
Oh, the photo made her look a little smaller. What is OSI? I inquired from PCCI where I can find breeders for Standard Poodle but they can't tell since there's no distinction on PCCI reg whether the poodle is standard, mini or toy.

I'd really like to have a Standard one. Do let me know if you know anyone who breeds the standard one

OSI GOLDEN is the kennel name, breeder is Mr. Rossano Osi. the code for poodles is A7 and they made a distinction for standard - the code is A7S. i don't know if there is a distinction between toy and miniature poodle but the standards, you will know by the code that ends with A7S.

Sorry, I just noticed your first sentence (was reading really fast last time, I overlooked). Where have you seen "Standard Poodles" here in Cebu? Know of any breeder from Cebu who owns a Standard?

If you do, do let me know. All I really care about is seeing a Standard or getting a Standard and it doesn't matter if the breeder is not as stellar as OSI - as long as they are in Cebu, I'm happy already.

    Thanks!!!
